IMO if today's date (or another) would have been included, the speculation that the first vision happened on April 5, 1820 (or the other date) would have exploded on LDS social media. A couple decades ago I vaguely remember reading someone used weather reports from the US military in 1820 to try to find which days were clear that spring and the first appropriate day that year and for a while afterwards was the 6th. No idea how valid that was. Then again I really wonder how much we let these things assume unnecessary importance. 10 years to the day from the First Vision to the organization of the church. If God loves big round numbers he really should have come back in 2000. I suppose he could do 200 years from the organization of the church. Looked ahead and ah-ha! April the 6th in 2030 is on Saturday, perfectly fitting general conference 10 years from now. Give one day for a preliminary arrival for the Saints and a general Second Coming on the Sunday following as suggested by Joseph Fielding Smith saying he would come on the Sabbath.......unless he is coming on the Jewish Sabbath. So Second Coming in 10 years everyone. 1

Lee in a general priesthood session of conference having to deny the then popular hearsay that his patriarchal blessing said that he would be the prophet when we all returned to Missouri. And how the math nimrods ramped up the end-time excitement for the 144th session of conference being conducted by Spencer Kimball, the 12th president of the Church (take a Book of Revelation number, factor in an obvious latter-day set-up from God, run the math, and isn't it obvious we're done??). 3
jerryp48 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 As I consider how timely the previous proclamation was I can’t help wondering what the next couple of decades will hold in regards to sentiments about our beliefs in the restoration. I wonder if the attacks within and without will intensify.

Regarding the new Proclamation, if the World didn't know what the message of the Church was before, it certainly does now! A bold, unapologetic, unhesitating, unashamed, powerful and straightforward declaration. The line of demaracation is clear and bright, if it wasn't already, it is now. Like SMAC said....."WOW"! Also, I was deeply moved by Pres. Nelson's apostolic blessing for us all. I noticed, that just barely visible at the bottom of the TV screen...I noticed as he began his blessing...that he outstretched both arms as if to embrace us all, and plead with us to "hear him". Just a powerful and spiritual event for me. Yes, I thought the blessing to be very powerful. His arm moved into a position reminiscent of the Christus. It may have been subconscious.

My wager would be that it happened on March 20th the spring equinox date in 1820. Since the Moroni visions happened on the Autumnal equinox and the significance of equinoxes in the folk magic world views of Joseph and his family at that time period that would have been a more significant date for him during that time period. 1
