Rush Limbaugh

I had not heard about him in years. I assumed he was dead. Are we sure it is not actually Hannity wearing his skin as a disguise?

The previous statement is not intended to have any political implications. It was just wishing thinking someone was probably dead.

Oh, and good luck getting him to say the right name.

In the last hour, Rush Limbaugh mentioned the Mormon church praising us for our family history work and facilities.

i wrote him an email asking him if he would be willing to correct the name of the Church. I wanted to encourage others to do likewise.

polite requests only please.

this isn’t meant to get political. If it’s does please close the thread

Wow, maybe an unintended consequence of President Nelson's efforts is that the language police personality types in the church are now emboldened to go forth and fight the good fight.  I just can't see how this is an important priority for the gospel message.

I appreciate it actually. I was getting tired of my crusade over the word “literally”.

It’s not a fight. It’s an invitation. There is no Animosity or anger. No attempt to use compulsion or force.

just a polite request

Annoying and a waste of time, but polite.  I just think there are much more important issues to focus on, we only have a finite amount of time each day.  To even focus on this issue with all the other problems we have in this world is an unfortunate misappropriation from my perspective.

A little blip from Mormon Newsroom as to why it’s still Mormon Newsroom:

https://www.mormonnewsroom.org/article/why-is-newsroom-still-mormon-newsroom?fbclid=IwAR15o42VPwG9PoKI1FPbcUrL-ProUGQU1g90LMF6Xg2hCP91DsFpsstvIjQ

As emphasized, it’s mentioned that this is a process that will unfold over time. I also think it’s important to keep in mind President Nelson’s emphasis on us changing the way we do it, rather than expecting everyone to follow, and that’s where I think more appropriate efforts should be focused. Kind of the difference between a shepherd and a sheep hearder. I think if we’re going out to forces outside of the church to invite change, it will be a distraction, rather than taking the long-term approach of changing things ourselves and then letting the cards fall where they may.

Making that observation while posting about it on this message board....isn’t that a tad bit ironic?

Great, we will be looking forward to hearing about the great things you have accomplished. Let us know.

I freely admit that posting on this message board is largely a waste of time.  :P  I'm not the head of an organization with millions of followers that has encouraged people to become language police.  Thats what I meant by unintended consequences.

Some people are just going to be irrascible language nazis nerds. Might as well channel them into something harmless.

Only it makes us come across as pricks if massive amounts of people are correcting and judging others over something so trivial.  Why not spend our efforts doing good in the community and building positively.  If we want to me known for our fruits I think we shouldn't be worried about how other people refer to us, instead lets focus our efforts on actually doing good in this world.

Ha, well, that makes sense coming from the sarcasm king.

But in all seriousness, Jesus just did good, he wasn't concerned with getting accolades or credit for the good he did.  Thats what the gospel is all about, its about serving and loving without getting the credit for it.

Actually, while Jesus sometimes hid his good deeds he made something of a spectacle of himself and was very clear that He was saving the world and wanted everyone to know it so they could be saved. His final commission to the apostles was to go out and tell EVERYONE what he did.

A virtue signaling thread.  Interesting.

No, I don't mean the Church was doing the virtue signaling.
