Welcome!

As far as call-outs, do mean of the Julie Rowe variety (tent cities, etc.)?

Yes I read all of those books and they seemed to be inspiring, that was why I came here, to see if there is other believers or not here :) and thank you for welcomes. Looking forward to read different kinds of discussions.

As far as i know, there are no Julie Rowe followers here on the board.  The posters in general are fairly critical of her.

I live in Utah and I had never heard of her until friends of ours in a neighboring stake starting telling us how crazy their parents were getting, making everyone in the family buy wall tents, and spend thousands of dollars in food storage.  Apparently (according to our friends) the stake president had to intervene a bit and tell people it wasn't appropriate to be so zealous.

This was around the same time that her books got put on the 'spurious materials list' by the church.  Since then, i haven't heard anything more about her from anyone around here.  I'm not sure how she many believers she still has in other areas.  It seems like she's been pretty quiet, but I honestly haven't checked either so maybe i've missed something.

Apparently she and/or her publisher may have a new book in mind, though it may be for other reasons they are trying to gathered documentation:

"Seeking Feedback from Julie’s Speaking Events

To whom it may concern:

We are seeking written accounts of some of the special circumstances surrounding any of the 22 speaking events Julie Rowe participated in from 2014-2015 for record keeping purposes.

If you attended one or more of these events and had a special experience, or had a special witness of some kind, we are asking you to write about it and send it in. Or if you know someone else who had such an experience, we encourage you to pass this request on to them.

Please reply by email to agreatertomorrow2014@gmail.com with the word “Witness” in the subject line. Keep your remarks brief (300-600 words), and include the following:

1. The name and date of the event you attended (see table of events below)
2. Your name, or state if you’d like to remain anonymous
3. And please state if you are willing to have your remarks published

We know there are many who had special experiences, and encourage them to participate in this special record keeping project.Thank you for your participation!"

Reported predictions:

"Bump:

Julie Rowe, in her latest radio interview with Bryan Hyde, made some specific predictions. So far, thankfully, none have come true. EBT cards worked fine on Black friday, there has been no 'Obsidian monday', Thankfully, Donald Trump was not shot in the chest and his trump Towers were not bombed. There were no huge riots which spread across the nation in the big US cities.

These are added to her earlier predictions of that huge earthquake centered on the UofU campus and assassinations during the election cycle. And then there were the predictions of food shortages and plagues and of course, the call out, which didn't happen. I'm so glad she's been wrong.

And, in a couple of weeks, when Donald Trump takes office, Hector Sosa will be proven wrong--and that woman--(Bagba vanda or something like that) and any others who predicted Obama would be the last president. Not too long to wait to prove these guys wrong."

I have heard of these so-called call outs and tent cities, but in my opinion we don't need to do anything except what the prophets have told us so far with regards to food storage and preparation for hard times.

“We encourage members worldwide to prepare for adversity in life by having a basic supply of food and water and some money in savings. We ask that you be wise, and do not go to extremes. With careful planning, you can, over time, establish a home storage supply and a financial reserve.” (LDS.org Food Storage)

Welcome, Zion gathering; yes. But want do you mean by "Call Outs".

Welcome!

We run the gamut here. "Orthodox" (I hate that word), fundamentalist-leaning, inactive, exmormon, never mormon, and everything in between is found here. We all get along fairly well. That said, the board is officially sustaining of the Church and the Presidency as is. As long as you give and receive respect well though, even if it's respectful disagreement, you'll get along fine.

What did she say?  I'm not going to listen to the podcast.

I haven't listened yet, saw it on another board. They quoted her as saying this:

"About 25 minutes into the podcast, during a running outline of events that she 'sees', Julie claims that after a second earthquake and after the people are in the camps, in the month of October (she gave no year) Julie will be 'shot and killed' by people that she knows. She said she saw them and knows who they are. She said she will be dead four days and will receive a priesthood blessing which will bring her back, but that the world will be told that 'Julie Rowe is dead' and few will know that she was brought back. She will then go back to live in a safe house for two months while the Elders of Israel are prepared for the 13 month war where troops will be fighting, troops who 'turned dark'. She will work on the war effort as a 'Joan of Arc' figure, though she won't be in battle. They will go take Denver, and overtake the enemy and then move on to Kansas, where it will be time to head, on foot, to the New Jerusalem. And she sees the creation of a church of the Firstborn."

Thanks Tacenda.  She's certainly getting detailed in her predictions.  Looks like she's learned her lesson about giving dates though.

Typical progression from 'I am just a typical member who for some reason has visions' to 'I am a major player in the Second Coming, up there with the apostles and prophets '.  Spencer did it with his office in the temple next to Jesus Christ, now Rowe is doing it with being known worldwide and another "Joan of Arc"...assuming this is accurate.

Podcast #60 is only ten minutes long or so.  Can't be that one if at the 25 minute mark.

oops, ignore as that is 61.  Glad I made the error or I would have missed the Jerusha ridiculousness.

From a comment in #57 where Rowe apparently shares memories of various wives of historic figures:

"I'm a little confused about your comments regarding Jerusha feeling set aside, and struggling with Hyrums relationship with Mary Fielding. You talk about them "snuggling" while they talk through her feelings relating to her feelings about his relationship with Mary, etc. Jerusha died on Oct 13, 1837 and Hyrum didn't marry Mary until Dec 24, 1837. So not only did Jerusha pass away prior to Hyrums relationship with Mary, but records indicate his other plural marriages didn't take place until after Jerusha had passed away (August 1843). Could you clarify how that discrepancy aligns with what you saw? Thank you!"

----

The podcast has Julie saying Jerusha crying to Hyrum over being polygamously married, starts around 9 minutes.  Then at around 13 minutes Rowe talks about how broken up she was about Hyrum's martyrdom and how their mutual loss brought her together with the other wives.   She seems completely clueless about Jerusha's death.

Absolutely bizarre.  Hopefully someone will preserve the clip to demonstrate she is a fraud.

Why does she do this??  Does she believe..really in her own predictions??  Or is she raking in some money that matches her ego?

So she knows the year, but isn't sharing.

"word has been sent out that Julie Rowe has died"...those who hear this can be reassured her mission isn't over, she is called back from the dead, she is working on helping and leading the war effort like Joan of Arc..."we", "our troops"...she is part of the altered bodied Church of the Firstborn going through the earth bringing in the righteous...wow, she has gotten arrogant.

Pitch for her charity.

Directing troops on both sides of the veil.

Around 30 min she is The Witness as part of the Presidency formed when Peter, James, and John comes "we have the King, the Priest, the Prophet, and the Witness, me serving as the Witness" which then turns the government/keys over to Christ when he comes.

At 35 minutes he talks about the LDS church still having a role, but Rowe's Church of the Firstborn is over it.  She agrees.  He continues on about Church leadership is in turmoil like the original church.  She supports Pres. Nelson, but then goes into leaders apostasy...need to stand with the majority of the Quorum as there will be those apostazing.  If apostles speak as individuals, we can ignore them, as a group we must listen.

Me:  This last allows her to ignore any condemnation of her because it won't be issued as a proclamation.

Jeanne, hard to know about actual belief.  Wouldn't be surprised.  The attention must be addictive.  Originally she made a big deal how she was an observer, not priesthood authority, etc.  Now she is part of the theocratic Davidic king's government that turns the keys over to Christ.

Well...that explains some things.. but wow...how many times can a woman embarrass herself?    I agree..it is the attention I believe that keeps her going.
