The Provo temple also had a similar reminder because of an incident in our temple earlier this week as well (a woman was asking sister workers to ordain her to the priesthood). Apparently there is some organized group that is planning to disrupt a number of endowment sessions up until conference. There wasn't much info given beyond that though. So this is apparently not an isolated incident. But because the way temples run, it'll probably make very few waves.With luv,BDOh no, so stupid. This will set women back even more. 1

The way temples function means that it would be extremely unlikely to spread beyond word of mouth...and not even all that far with that (try finding one main place online beyond here that's discussing this). Like I said, it's going to make very small waves at best.

But she could have made her rounds to a few temples before that happened.

No idea, that's just what was told to me in the meeting...an organized group going about, disrupting sessions. Personally, I doubt it is one woman because it would be to easy to pick up on.

The Brethren are experienced enough to know the fringe groups are just that. And there is no evidence that this is a part of any organized group. Disruptions are really a dime a dozen. However, the fact that all incidents are to be reported means that they will look for trends.

They'll think it's wrong to want any authority as if it's of Satan. They won't be the oil to the squeaky wheels, or the brethren. Such as agitating for it, in the words of Pres. Hinckley. There are so many names out there I simply don't see the need to repeat work.... but perhaps in some temples it is necessary? I have no idea.I have heard that the Temple work ..when this happens..is just busy work to keep people active. I really don't know about that but have heard this after I did a lot of baptisms for the dead..No judgement..just a curious as some of you are.

But there are social benefits to unifying in a common cause. Temple work is a rallying cry and activity that helps unite members of the church by participating in indexing, temple ordinance, family history research etc. There is a way for everyone to participate. Even IF there were not spiritual benefit to performing saving ordinances, temple work is a smart plan for engaging the membership. 1

That might have been one reason for it in the past, i honestly have no idea as i've never heard that before. However, if it was once a reason it must not be one any longer. For the last few years the church has been doing everything they can think of to keep people from resubmitting and doing work for people who have already had it done.

She forgot that she wasn't making those promises for herself, she was making them in behalf of someone else. If she didn't want to make them for someone else she should have stayed home.
