Bill Reel: The New John Dehlin?

- 90% of the content he presents is anti.

- Like Dehlin and other anti's he's begging members to read the Church essays. When he presents the essays, he prefaces them in the most negative way possible, instead of let the essays speak for themselves.

- When someone calls him out on being negative towards the Church [church history is problematic, blah blah blah], he responds to the effect of, "Oh yeah...I was just expressing concerns some have regarding the Church."

- Does not turn completely anti in order to straddle both sides

- He says he still has a testimony, but there's nothing in his online behavior that manifests such.

- Loves Faulconer's faith stages model (or whatever the hades that is) like it's scientific.

The only difference is he doesn't have a college degree and consequently doesn't do as good of a job hiding it.

Really?  How did you measure "90%" and what do you consider "anti"?

1- Bill posts on this board. How would you feel if I started a thread "Is Hamilton Porter An Apostate?" You probably wouldn't like it so try to have some respect for others on the board.

Do it!

CFR because I highly doubt that number is true.  He might occasionally discuss something "anti" but for the most part is podcasts are all about "leading with faith".

Bill, is not 90% anti-mormon.  I don`t agree with all of his opinions and think he is wrong on some of them.  He is active and his podcast is about "leading with faith."

For an orthodox mormon who doesn`t know the issues it would`t be any more shocking than reading this message board for a half an hour.  LGBT issues come up more than I would choose if it were my podcast (please don`t let this disintegrate into an LGBT thread).  Listen to a few of his podcasts.  There was a recent one on proofs of the Book of Mormon.

OK, I now another difference. He appears to be a nice guy, more charitable, and doesn't harbor vendettas towards his enemies. Not the narcissist Dehlin is. Less ego-driven.

As far as the Church goes, goals appear to be the same.

And that would be.....?

You appear to not really be familiar with the content of his podcasts.

I heard his Terryl Givens podcast and he was very faith-promoting. But like Dehlin, he appears to be evolving.

speaking of Bill Reel his interview of Michael Quinn is now free! Yay!

also I've never thought he was anti mormon, just a more liberal mormon

This is now the third comment like this; can you provide examples, please?

Your psychoanalysis is lacking. You might want to stop trying.

How about we stop talking about another person and stick to issues

So now evolving is a bad thing? Alright.

Another little difference. Bill attends the temple pretty regularly. At least he did before he moved out of my stake last summer. I assume he has it even easier now that he lives in Utah.

So you've listened to one podcast and you've now determined that he's apostate (or heading that direction)?

This is ridiculous.  You haven't answered my CFR.  Please do so.

And, either start identifying actual things Bill has said or written that are "anti" or retract the claim.
