Does Man Have The Ability To Obey All Of The Commandments?

1 Nephi 3:7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I ^awill go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no ^bcommandments unto the children of men, save he shall ^cprepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.

 

 

The verse above from 1 Nephi 3:7 is a popular verse in the Book of Mormon and is often quoted by LDS.  This verse teaches that man has the ability to keep the commandments. I have asked LDS if they believe that they have the ability to keep all of the commandments and most have said that they do have this ability.  Are there any LDS that believe that they don't have the ability to keep the commandments?

Is this the same Nephi who said he gives in so easily to the sin in 2nd Nephi.

 

Keeping all the commandments is impossible hence in "My grace is suffcient for you, My strength is made perfect in weakness"  and Why Paul said when I am weak, than am I strong"  It is in our sin and shortcomings we fully appreciate the Grace of God and what it can do....

 

It is impossible to be perfect in this life and LDS leaders have taught as much

why did people in the first century accuse Paul of preaching a "do nothing" gospel?

if you are not accused of using God's grace as an excuse to sin, are you preaching the true gospel? 

of course the accusation is a lie, but why did the accusation exist and carry enough weight that some people, without full understanding, would think this is the case?

Jesus does not want do-nothing unprofitable servants. 

He has little need for servants who think they are equal or better than their masters.

what grace is it that Paul presents that he would say "what then, are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace?" 

do you believe Paul has the true gospel of Christ? why does this accusation even come up? 

do you teach this same grace that makes people ask "why then obey any commandment?"

Anakin do you deserve God's grace? 

did you deserve it when He first showed it to you?

do you believe if you bear down and try really hard you will deserve it one day, maybe not even need it? 

how often do you need Jesus?

if this man had kept every commandment since his youth, why did he need to ask what he should do to inherit eternal life? 
did he already have eternal life? no. is eternal life his birthright? no. did he earn it by keeping every commandment? no. 

why did Christ tell him that he still lacked something?

The gift is free or it isn't a gift. However we still have to accept the gift or it profit us nothing. How do we accept that gift? By doing what the Lord tells us to do. IE; Beatitudes

does God justify the ungodly, or do men have to remove all ungodliness from themselves and love God perfectly in every way before His grace is applied?

The salt that has lost its savor is good for nothing and is tossed out.
