Simplicity Vs Complexity In Revelation

Today in GD we discussed why Gospel revelation is simple but things become complex. I suggested that complexity arises as we try to make various solitary teachings and revelations into a consistent whole. But then I live in a technicolor world not one of black and white. Your thoughts?

Who says revelation is simple?  I have studied the revelations my whole life and I am still learning to understand them.  Exactly what part of revelation was described as simple?

I don't recall a specific being mentioned, there was a lot of head nodding. I think the build up was a support of the Correlation Committee and the simple language and examples given.

I think that the word of the Lord is simple, but that it's application in our "technicolor world" creates complexity.

Well the example I gave was "Thou shalt not kill" followed by Nephi lopping off Laban's head. The complexity arises from making these two revelations consistent. I have noticed from time to time, that those who live in a black and white world tend not to try and achieve consistency amongst revelations which can bea somewhat arduous mental exercise at times.
