I've looked and can't find it anywhere even though I can picture the article in my mind's eye...

However, due to issues with my memory that doesn't mean that the article actually exists, so perhaps it is best to simply put it down to a false memory unless someone else speaks up about remembering it.

It's ok, no reason to disbelieve you, was just curious to read what they had said.

Lowering the eligibility age was important, right now in these economic times the years right after high school are fraught with danger there is too much unstructured time for things to go wrong it would be a good time to start up United Order colonies, but doubt that is on the list.

Having talked to local leaders, it appears that the only people who are taking about this broadcast are people here. Perhaps something will be discussed about it at church this sunday. I'm trying to get excited about this. Changes in direction are of interest but not really earth shattering.

With less than 24 hours to go, here's my final prediction:

Missionaries will now carry iPads, and City Creek was nothing but an elaborate plan to get the employee discount on the devices.

That would make sense... Help me come to grips with it.

Well my ultimate earthly authority returned from the meeting, she said we didn't need to pack our bags for Missouri just yet, that the Missionaries were going to go social media, and they are reemphasising the every member missionary program. Oh well, meanwhile I came close to touching off a thunderstorm in HP Quorum by suggesting that one path to internal peace would be to start engaging with the local communities to help get the drug gang issues under control.

What was their issue with that?

What and get involved with those people when we can live righteously in our own little bubble world of middle class values and talk about beautiful temples and the inspiration regarding their site selection?

Ah, that's too bad...though I can understand being fearful of coming in contact with gangs due to the violence associated with them in the public mind. However, I would think there would be ways to support community outreach programs without being placed in confrontational situations.

Exactly, how do you tackle the gang problem without getting involved in confrontational situations, other than studiously ignoring it and then condemning bad parents and the failure of the police to get it under control?

Oh and don't forget complaining about the schools while cutting their budgets, that is always worth a few nods of approval from the sages.

That's a cynical attitude to have. We should seriously have more faith and reach out to the community.

Yes, it was meant to be snarky. But seriously, do you ever listen to a lot of the discussions? When was the last time you heard someone give a talk about members getting seriously engaged in dealing with social problems in the community?
