Not debating, but keeping it real. Which should help you on your journey. If reality doesn't assist your journey, that should say something.

No...you are debating.

And you are not keeping it real.

And I can do reality ALL day......:)  Prolly not gonna well for everyone.

So, start your own thread, please

Fine, but when you bring up Catholicism and conversations with Catholics, don't expect people who were/are there to sit quietly while you spin your tales of woe.

I didn't...until it was posted here.  And I spun NO tales of woe.  I wear the suspension with PRIDE.

Please be respectful of my wishes.  It is not hard.

Well, I do wish you the best. Honestly. I know you as TK, someone who I like, not as an enemy. You know me as RebeccaJ.

I do miss your wit at CAF, and am glad that you haven't lost that. Personally, I was sad to see you were suspended, but hey, it happens to all of us. :D

Be the best Mormon you can be, just I hope that you aren't being Mormon based on anti-Catholicism, and I hope you can defend Mormonism for what it is, not what you perceive that Catholicism is not.

God be with you.

I will never be anti-Catholic.  It came down to miracles and Spirit-Given answers.

It came down to prayer. And then some things I simply could not agree with...and changes I could not explain since we have always argued that a Pope is not a prophet, and there is no revelation.

There are some Catholic Teachings I will likely always carry....I have spoken to my Bishop about these and he has no problem with what I will keep.

I know my life has been full of miracles.....both to lead me to the Catholic Church....and back to the LDs Church.  God has HIS ways....I just want to go where HE wants me.

Was I vocal against the LDS Church?  Yes.  and I have stated I was wrong.  I cannot deny the miracles.   cannot deny answers given to me by the Spirit.

I have always enjoyed your posts over there....I know my style can be abrupt.  Partly because i hate typing, so I get right to the point.  Partly because I am an attorney and it how I argue.  It is very successful in court...not as good on a forum.

The fact that you two brought up my past was a bit hurtful.  I did not think any of the Catholic posters over there would do that.  I was wrong.  <shrugs shoulders>

I wish you the best.  I hold no ill will.

Thomas More will always be my Patron Saint   :)

I wasn't bringing up the past to be hurtful, but to put us all in context. You've been suspended, I've been suspended. I don't recall that ChristKnight as been suspended. He's the diplomatic one.

Suspensions are temporary. So you haven't been banned. I hope you come back, I really do, and we'll have a good time in our mutual bluntness until we're both banned.

I apologize for hurting you and I'll be more mindful in the future.

No...I think you brought up my errors to make a point.  It was a shame.  But, all is forgiven.

Yes, the point was context. To be blunt, you're acting like getting suspended is something new for you and that it means something about what is truth and what is not truth. I don't think so.

But whatever, if you want to think the worst of me, fine. You'll fit in with the Mormons here on that count!

Please take debate to the Discussion folder. This area is for friendly talk.

Getting suspended for being too blunt and even rude would NOT have been new.  Getting suspended for simply using the same argument against Catholics, almost word for word, that a Catholic used against Mormons was new.  If I was suspended, then the posts for each were wrong.

You knew me, I did not know you (until after the fact).  To being up my past on a different board under those perameters was unfair and uncharitable.  It was done to prove points.

I do not think the worst of you....I said all was forgiven...we were allies...we may be again someday  :)

An assumption on my part, that you knew I posted at CAF. Most here know it and some who used to post at CAF give me grief for it on a regular basis.

I don't know why you were banned. That was the moderator, I just know that your argument is flawed. :)

Anyway, I didn't mean to ambush you.

It is ok.....being ambushed by Catholics is something I will get used to  :)

Are you coming with the Obama group? ;) He's visiting Hill Air Force Base this weekend. Btw, you're going to be blown away at the changes! Will you be visiting the church sites?

ETA: Not that it matters much, but Pres. Obama is flying in today!

DGAL, nope.....the Stake President still has not received my paperwork.

But.....here is something...if it takes too long, and I get a job in SLC soon, I could be in SLC when it happens......

ok...the missionaries contacted me today.  They want to come over and have me role play with them.  They want me to hit them with all the questions they will get and arguments they will face.  They want to be better prepared and be better teachers.  These are smart missionaries.  They understand what they need.

It is what we attorneys do when we prepare for trial.  We role play with our witnesses to get them prepared for cross-examination......

I look back on my mission and the experiences I had knowing all of the stuff I do now and how I used to argue all sorts of points.

If I could offer advice it would be to:

1) Be polite and loving.

2) Find those that truly need the gospel that we offer. This idea could use some explaining on it's own. Not every one needs what we offer.

3) Try focusing more on what you have in common vs issues or supposed issues.

4) There is nothing wrong with knowing all the issues and how to deal with them, it is just not very useful for conversions.

Hello Mola...

From my experience (2-yr stake mission) of going on splits with the sisters, I'm not sure I agree with your #4...

The sisters that were better able to answer questions were more likely to be successful...
