This is totally off topic (this is the Social Hall, right? :) ), but recently I was reminded of a video on Youtube, one that I watched roughly ten years ago, many of you have probably seen it.  It is a "Funny or Die" episode, where the popular American singer-songwriter, Jewel, "disguised as a mild mannered businesswoman, drops by a local karaoke bar and performs some of her classic songs to a completely dumbfounded audience".  Three guys, who were in on the joke and accompanied her into the bar, called her "Karen", and each time one of her "business associates" got up to sing and finished their karaoke song, they would try to prod "Karen" to get up and sing.  And eventually the whole crowd was shouting, "Karen! Karen!" to try to get her to come up.   Here's a link to the video:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmv1VhrtYRo   It is funny to watch.  I'm sure drinking had a lot to do with some of the comments made by the customers at the bar.

But the funny part about watching this video ten years later is summed up in one of the comments made four months ago that now has 462 up votes (as of this posting):  "10 years on and people chanting "Karen! Karen!" has taken on a whole new meaning."

I know at least one woman named Karen.  It's too bad that certain names sometimes take a turn for the worst in popular culture.

We have them, but I haven't run into any personally.

Thats why I mentioned what seems to be his target audience earlier.  I agree, he's neither right not left.

I'm a fan of hermeticism and esoteric things.  While I'm not really a traditionalist I do think society has lost its way, rampant consumerism and our current societal vices have ruined much.  Way I see it, there isn't anything we can do, nor should we.  We're in the Kali Yuga, the wicked age.  Ride the Tiger, pun intended. 

I like how he draws from Buddhism and the Mithras cults of old as well.  I don't have the time I used to, when I was getting into Evola and the like, it amazed me just how much reading I had to so.

Anothee favorite, the forest passage by Ernst junger.   If you're into deep ecology at all, you'd like him.

Chad has already been adopted by the Incel community as a label for the guys that can get sex when and with whom they want. Think jocks of high school for the image. 
 

Chads are paralleled by Staceys or Trixies (feminine sex stereotypes instead of course).

Oh yeah forgot about that.  Need to find another name that just screams male privilege then.

Speaking of names, I just got off the phone with my mom, and she was telling me about my sister's trip to Cancún last week.  She and her husband went scuba diving and a few other things.  But when they went to take one of the tours to see some Mayan ruins, they saw a guy wearing a BYU hat, and he was from that area.  They started a conversation with him and he told them his name was Mosiah, and that he had two brothers, one named Lamoni, and the other named Lemuel.  My sister (or her husband) asked him, why would your mom name a kid "Lemuel"?  The guy answered that he just thought his mom was trying to buck the trend and give the name another chance (my comment: maybe it was like the story in Johnny Cash's song, A Boy Named Sue).  And sure enough, the guy named Mosiah said he was a branch president, but his brother Lemuel was a stake president.  So don't judge a person by their name.

I wonder if he is a Pacific Islander. There was a gentleman named Nephi that was, at my mom's care center.

I know a woman named Kyle.  I know a few men named Kyle (from church and work).  I never met a man named Karen, however.

That's a first, and a man named Karen? Well, after all the Karen action, maybe more men could be Karen, haha. I see a lot of children's names in my line of work, never saw that one for a girl!
