We heard a 20 round clip, then 3 rounds, then another 20 rounds. I guess the 3 rounds was the dead guys trying to protect themselves. 1

When it came right down to it, he just wanted to continue to do what he had always done, help those he loved and be with them...just with a bit more personal time and space and side trips of exploration. It is good to learn what is most important to us. I think that is the fundamental purpose of mortality. In the perfect realms of heaven, we can have all desires fulfilled so how can we learn what we really want without wants? Deprivation, limitations, sacrifices, having to make choices to learn what we see as good, better, and best...those teach us how much we care. 1

Good to know the Law does reach out at least on occasion and in such an effective way. Hopefully they will stick around long enough that those who want to and can leave once the channel is dredged will do so and those who can't or want to stay will still be safe after the excitement dims. 2

To make a long story short about 2 zillion cops of all kinds showed up along with the marines and they searched every boat and all of the condos. The rounded up 4 bad guys hiding on various boats and in the condos. My cats had really big eyes when we finally got home. We had to wait about 2 hours up the road while they finished their operation. I could tell our boat had been searched. I hope this is the end of this stuff and we can get on with dredging. I guess it was God's wisdom to put that off for a month. Back in 2012 my late wife and I went on a cruise to Mexico and our first stop was Cabo San Lucas. A Mexican Marine patrol boat accompanied our big ship into the anchorage, and man were they loaded for bear! After we had motored in with many others to the port, my wife and I were walking leisurely along the pier when the guys from the boat passed us by, patrolling in two pairs of heavily armed individuals. It sure made me feel good to see them! One of them was carrying an M203 grenade launcher slung under his M16 rifle -- this was my favorite weapon when I was in the Army. I loved my M203! The few times I was allowed to fire live rounds from that little darling were some of my funnest times in the Army. And I could light things up very well with it, too! 3

Minnesota hasn't had the death penalty since 1911, so that's out. 1

So far we have moved 24 truckloads of sand.It's going to be close coming in under budget and on time. Prayers accepted! It's really hard not to have the guys work sunday . The tide is -1 ft but I feel we will be blessed by keeping the sabbath. The marines stopped by yesterday and checked paperwork, they gave us verbal permission to keep dredging. Captain Dorian was real nice and gave us his email and phone number. They want to know if we feel safe now. He had the FBI with him and numerous soldiers. 4
