I feel bad though, I mean you think you'll be serving in Hong Kong and yet you go elsewhere-even after learning Chinese and with sisters you only have 18 months to do this

One of my son's companions was waiting to go since about May and kept being told he would be leaving, but it was cancelled several times. He finally went the last of November/beginning of December. I imagine there were others like him. 1

Hopefully she will go to a place that can make use of her new skill. Lots of Chinese immigrants in Canada. There may be issues with getting new visas though very quickly. 1

The area authority (Southeast Asia, she knows about Singapore but is assuming this is area wide) has cancelled all Church meetings as of Friday probably because governments are asking for any group gatherings to be canceled. [my info: The one cluster outbreak in Singapore was a Christian group/faculty. There is a major one up in South Korea due possibly to a member of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus thinking she just had a cold. Apparently they sit on the ground close to each other in their meetings and do a lot of shouting out "amen" (singing would probably have the same effect) and the infection spread too well. What I found most interesting is that to go many places, you are required to get your temperature taken. She is volunteering at her daughter's school to take the temps of students that don't show up with signed passes from home (meaning they got taken at home). Shopping centers are taking people's temps before letting them in. Can you imagine what a hassle that would be if we were still using mercury thermometers? Lol On a side note, I asked her about hoaxes, if any were being reported as some are popping up over here and apparently they don't have to endure those because Singapore prosecutes people reporting fake news. I am all for freedom of press, but I can see some definite benefits to that system.
