Not sure about Independence The Temple Lot was already dedicated and the cornerstones laid in Joseph Smith's time. It is the highest spot in Independence, Missouri. Some people even believe that the Great Temple will come down bodily from Heaven in the Last Days -- right onto the Temple Lot. As for Adam ondi Ahman, it could be an open-air temple, just like the Garden of Eden. 1
aussieguy55 Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 I never see missionaries around much here. I use to see them in the local library writing home on a Wednesday. The Baptists and JWs are out and about in front of the court house. 1

The Church of Christ - Temple Lot isn't much concerned with such mundane things as ownership of the land, because they are holding the property and worshiping at their Church there every Sunday waiting for the Lord to come at the End Time.

I met an apostle from the temple lot church a couple of years ago while touring Independence and asked him why they haven't built a temple on the site. He said "God hasn't told us to yet." Good answer. 2
Duncan Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 (edited) I'm reading a journal of a General Authority who was present at the April 1930 General Conference was he said that they had a drama-"the Pageant" presented, at conference. It was about the history of the Priesthood. Also the First Presidency had this message that was sent out to every mission, ward, branch and newspapers. It was read first by Pres. Heber J. Grant. They did the Hosannah Shout-which we did when Pres. Hinckley was around, IIRC for the Tabernacle dedication. I wouldn't mind all of that but could do without some drama thing. Maybe they'll do something like that? It seems like that Drama went on for sometime, it appears they wanted as many people to hear the conference-given 1930 technology mind you. The CHL has photos of it taken April 19th, 1930 at the Utah State Capitol Edited January 24, 2020 by Duncan 1
