When I used the pronoun “your,” it was intended in a general sense, as in “one’s intent.” I don’t claim the ability to gauge your motives.

I was indicating that the answer you receive will supposedly depend on the person you are asking. To whom it may concern. 1

No I just voluntarily admitted I wouldn't be caught dead watching General Conference without a pair of garments of the holy priesthood. And I usually wear them on other occasions as well. Some people like their Fruit of the Looms, or the Calvin Kleins but me, yeah, I like these garments the very bestest. And if you haven't noticed I haven't asked you what kind of underwear you are wearing, either. You just seem to have some aversion to telling me.

John the Baptist (admitted by Joseph and Jesus to be among the greatest prophets) wore camel hair and got to baptize the Savior. I tend to agree with you as I think it is tradition that tells us certain types of attire are more respectful than others, but can understand why others might not as there is also the parable of the feast where attire is provided by the host when those invited last minute don’t have the correct attire. Agreed. Which is why I say that if something brings you closer to Christ, such as dressing up in a shirt and tie..go for it! Not my place to make judgement in that category. When it comes to the wedding feast, however, I think we can agree that while it might have some physical application (such as garments) it was mostly in reference to Charity, Obedience, and righteousness and especially the Holy Ghost. A parable. 1

Am I wrong? “Half or fewer” seems low to me as an estimate. I attended the general priesthood session in person almost every time. I never bothered to look around and take particular note (wasn’t important to me) but the impression in my mind is that most of the men in the congregation were wearing jackets. I’m well aware of the photo you posted and that it seems to bear out what you say (I wouldn’t have shot the photo, by the way, or even have been present when it was shot; the photography at conference is typically handled by the Deseret News photo staff). I’m also aware of what I have seen borne out again and again: that still photos can convey misleading impressions. That said, I’m cognizant of the limitations of human memory, including my own.
