Thanks Marcos! That was a great sales pitch.  I much appreciated your thoroughness.  Google docs are good enough, and would probably be no big deal if I got more used to them.  I like keeping everything in the cloud.  I've been paying Carbonite for the past ten years.  I still don't know how to use it to retrieve anything.  But Google Docs are always there.  Chromebook sounds great.  I like the price.  I think I'll look into it.  I hope I can find one with a sharp screen.  They ought to pay you a commission! 😎

I love them - really what I hate is having to deal with windows and their tyrannical stealing my time with having to learn where the whatsis icon is in THIS new improved version that runs slower and gets more stupid by the version.  They will soon have us writing with crayons.   I literally could do more with DOS in 1982 writing my own macros than I can do now writing with crayons in windows 10.   And then they change everything to make it "better"   - fergitaboutit!!  Icons are now "tiles"- what the heck is that about???  And all the directions are in the new jargon which you have to figure out until you can do anything.

And then the updates are just plain unacceptable.  I am not going to listen to a machine to tell me when to turn it on or not and how long I have to wait for the dang thing to work.   I want to turn it on, do my work and get on with life

I've found this site difficult to work with sometimes. Once you start writing a response to a topic you can't change your mind and cancel out.  You have to post something, even if it is "nevermind".  Although if you start to create a new topic you can cancel before you actually post it.

I've also had problems with a nicely-crafted response dropping into the bit bucket unexpectedly, losing everything.  Although the most recent updates seems to have improved this. I used to type out my responses in Notepad++ before importing to the MDDB forum, just to avoid the bit bucket. Not so much any longer.

Also, it used to be that the forum software wouldn't work with Microsoft Edge in any reasonable way (at least in crafting a post), but now it does. Not sure if that was Edge's fault or the software's, but now I prefer Edge to Chrome with MDDB.

My biggest issue is the dang quote button only works if I refresh the page 10 times or so...same with the edit button in both saffari and google chrome.  It works on my iphone though.

An updated browser seems to get rid of a lot of bugs and site issues.

I liked Google docs until they started putting a google tag on the bottom of each page I printed. I've stopped using it.

The latest version of Safari on iOS/OSX ought be something to assume a lot of people are using.

Not only that but when the problem happens my post gets trapped in the editor with no way to delete it or post it. Effectively I'm cut off from the thread (as happened in the "Is Satan Anachronistic" thread) Again I know the vagaries of running software you didn't write and keeping working. But a little bit of feedback would be nice.

I usually cut and paste from a saved text file. If anything goes wrong in the forum, I have a backup.
