But, I'm also guessing that because the person quoted would never try to be nice to a rival he sees BYU's act of kindness as insincere. People often attribute their own motives in a similar situation to others. It's great illustration of the old adage: "We don't see the world as it is, but as we are." 8

Wounded people, no matter the hurt can and will become agony at others for no other reason that, they seem to be happy and those hurting are not. It is natural state of the "natural man", and is all the more reason that we should forgive and forget, taking the path of the "Spiritual man or woman". Only then can we give unto the hurting the "Balm of Gilead". (I so hope the spelling is correct). 1

Cincy was just trying to work up a good mad so they could take that aggression into the game last year, and BYU was so nice that it took that away from the Bearcats...which just frustrated them even more. This game tomorrow will be very interesting. BTW, a BYU fan sent the complaining Cincy player flowers today...very interesting indeed! 2

This reminds me of the recent game the Cougs played where the opposing team had just lost one of their players to an accident... No. 36... so BYU had laid flowers on the field at the 3-yard and 6-yard markers... when the other team entered and had taken their place, BYU team leaders picked up the flowers and presented them to the other team leaders... the ESPN announcers took special note and said what a wonderful act of kindness it was, and what a class act BYU was... Okrahomer Posted November 6, 2016 Author Posted November 6, 2016 Well, BYU over Cincinnati today: 20 - 3. I saw a fair amount of sportsmanship in this game, so if revenge was Cincinnati's motivation, it never really worked for them. 1
