It is illegal in every State for minors to purchase alcohol. Yet minors still get drunk.

You can get drunk off of alcohol filled candies.

That takes a lot of candy.

Lack of enforcement?  Why do you say that?  You absolutely have to have a medical marijuana card to even enter a dispensary.  And you don't get a medical marijuana card by having a California drivers license.  That is totally irrelevant.  The criteria is you have to have a doctor's prescription.

I personally completely support medical marijuana,  Of course not everyone may be in dire need of marijana to help them cope with some illness.  So what?  I would much rather people buy marijuana from a dispensary rather than some drug dealer on the street. And I much rather have the state have some control over it rather than legalize it for everyone.  I voted YES for medical marijuana and in this election I already voted NO for legalization.  Just mailed in my ballot this morning.

Yes, I believe California has a lack of enforcement of its medical marijuana laws. In Arizona, the spectre of turning into California in terms of medical marijuana was addressed to assure voters that Arizona would not turn into California. I voted yes for medical marijuana in arizona. After it passed, I called a "Doctor's Office" who hired some ya-hoo's to spin signs which read "Get you Medical Marijuana card, $150"

I complained the the Doctor that such a belittling display reenforced that medical marijuana was not about medicine, did harm to legit medical use, I asked him to stop having sign spinners and asked if the office would find a more dignified  way of advertising.

Provo, did it work?  Good for you, btw, for doing something about your disapproval.

I actually think that most people are quite happy with our medical marijuana law.  I can't even remember when it passed.  It is so much in the background.  People are getting the medication they need.  And yes, people are also getting the mariijuana for recreational use that they need without having to use drug dealers.  It is the main reason why I voted against legalization of marijuana in this election.  There is no real compelling argument to legalize it.  I also don't want growing and selling marijuana to become a big business that will probably be run by the tobacco companies.

I heard recently that the legalization of pot for recreation use has made the drug dealers now concentrate on selling heroine, and it is on the street at a much higher degree now.
