If I convert to Mormonism will the church help me find employment?

They have employment specialist in most Ward and LDS Employment Services in every Stake, State and Mission. I am sure anyone who wishes can benefit and find any listings. You should only join the Church is you believe it's teaching and gain a testimony from God that it is his Church, and for no other reasons. It is after all a faith and no a social club.

Would that be your reason for converting?  I hope not.  :)

On the other hand, Rick might find employment and then find the Church.  Backward, but helpful.

Rick, if you know of a local meeting house, go for a visit on a Sunday morning; meet the bishop and ask him about the possibility of talking with the employment specialist.  This is a network of employment opportunities in the area in which you live.  They can assist in resume writing, job search, etc.  However, there is no guarantee that their efforts will be successful in assisting you find work.  I don't think you need to join the Church of Jesus Christ just to use this service.  Ask the local bishop and see what he thinks.

If you are seeking for a spiritual home I am sure you know that we are a missionary church.  We take seriously the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to preach the gospel to all.  If you are interested the local missionaries would be excited to teach you.  Mormonism is not just a church for Sunday meetings; it is a way of life.

You do not need to be a member of the church to get help to find a job at any of the church employment centers, or use the job board.   While it is really unusual for a non-member to be in the employment classes at a stake level (and those classes aren't nearly as frequently given or services provided at that level), there is an employment specialist in every stake (sometimes in every congregation).

And you can even find the resources they use online at providentliving.org.

Ultimately you'll need to do the work to get a job.   But you may be able to find someone who'll give you moral and skill support you while you do it.

No, we will help you either way. No guarantees of course.

Church employment-finding assistance is not restricted to members.  We don't currently have an employment office in our building, but when we did it was open to all, not just members of the church.  So don't join the church just to find a job.  It's not necessary, and is the wrong reason to join.

Having had my husband work with them 2 years ago I highly recommend doing what they day to do if you decide to get help.  My husband is specialized so his prospects were few,  but it is through going through the accelerated program that he was ready for interviews etc when one came his way.  He had also said that in the past he used to interview other people.  By far the interviewee that did the best job, my husband later learned,  learned most of what he learned through the employment center.  They also work on finding,  creating resumes etc.

Good luck!  And we would love to see you at church,  but come because you feel it is right, not to get a job.  It doesn't matter what religion or lack there of to use the employment center.

So, what exactly does paprika have to do with your husband?  Is he perhaps, mildly spicy?  :-)
