savedwheat Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Joseph Smith copied directly (3 Nephi 20.23-26a) off of what Peter said in Acts (Acts 3.22-26) when Peter paraphrased Moses in Deuteronomy (Deut. 18.15,18-19), but Joseph Smith presented that paraphrasing as being of Moses by Nephi in the Americas when Peter didn't actually make that paraphrase until after Jesus died on the cross (in KJV version no less which is taken from a later NT manuscript source) and after Jesus allegedly went to the Americas. The same verse numbering in Nephi 3:20:23-26 were used, namely verses 23 to 26 but not verse 22 as in Acts 3.22-26. It's completely premediated deception. This shows Joseph Smith was a con artist and a careless one at that. Everything in Mormonism is designed and set up for you to reject who Jesus truly is, the 2nd Person of the Trinity, and reject that salvation is not by works (lest anyone should boast). "22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23 And it shall come to pass, [that] every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. [This ends Peter paraphrasing Moses, now Peter speaks further...] 24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. 25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities" (Acts 3.22-26 KJV). "15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; ... 18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require [it] of him" (Deut. 18.15,18-19). "23 Behold, I am he of whom Moses spake, saying: A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass that every soul who will not hear that prophet shall be cut off from among the people. 24 Verily I say unto you, yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have testified of me. 25 And behold, ye are the children of the prophets; and ye are of the house of Israel; and ye are of the covenant which the Father made with your fathers, saying unto Abraham: And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26 The Father having raised me up unto you first, and sent me to bless you in turning away every one of you from his iniquities" (Nephi. 3:20:23-26). Verse 26 in Nephi says "raised me up." Who is "me" here? Peter's paraphrase of Moses that Jesus is quoting was after Jesus allegedly went to the Americas. It is quite funny Smith changed "me" in place of "foretold of these days" in verse 24, and "me" to replace "his Son Jesus" and "me" instead of "him" in verse 26. This is twisted. The Mormon Jesus in the Americas before Peter was born is using Peter's words about Jesus as Jesus speaking referring to Himself. Crazy eh? Totally demented! Joseph Smith was trying to be sneaky but he is found out. Bottom line you can't quote something that hasn't been said yet.
Popular Post halconero Posted January 25, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) The funny thing is that not only is he a troll, but a bad one at that. He doesn't do enough research to realize that this scripture in the Book of Mormon takes place after Jesus' Resurrection in the Bible, and when Peter was most definitely alive. Troll is lazy. savedwheat Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 Nephi the prophet was suppose to be on gold plates 600 BC; he was not alive after Jesus. Wow, you don't get what's going on. Read it slowly.

Total waste of time there are none so blind as those who will not see in two hundred years he is the only one ot have noticed this. just so frustrating 1
savedwheat Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 We have over 30 examples like this in the BofM. It's one of the easiest ways to show blatant fraud. People just don't think to compare.
savedwheat Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 One of my favorites to show J. Smith was a con artist is his new translation of Isaiah added several chapters that were never there before. The Dead Sea Scrolls show what we have today is the same Isaiah, but the Smith comes along and adds more chapters out of nowhere. This fact alone should cause you to leave the Mormon cult. Total fraud. He is using his mind to try to deceive you, and hence, what is born is this cult. But it only feeds a certain kind of cult member who is mostly in his feelings and doesn't double check anything. So you get about 5 million of those type of people around the world. Not a lot. But still disturbing because they are going to Hell.

The prophet named Nephi in the Book of 3rd Nephi lived about 600 years later than the prophet named Nephi who wrote the the books of 1st and 2nd Nephi. They are two totally different people who lived hundreds of years apart! Please tell me you are less than 15 years old.!?! Edited January 25, 2016 by Bobbieaware 3

Wow, you don't get what's going on. Read it slowly. Find yourself an actual copy of the Book of Mormon. There are several Nephi's therein. Subsequent generations after the first Nephi often named children after their best known ancestor and sometimes the name was taken as an honorific again in recognition of the first person called Nephi. Several of these contributed chapters to the Book of Mormon and show the name Nephi as some part of the title of that book though they may be hundreds of years separated from others that used the name Nephi. First and Second Nephi are by the same author but subsequent Nephi's are different individuals. However, at the bottom of the pages you will see there are numbers illustrating the approximate time that the events of that section took place. The Nephi you have quoted, 3rd Nephi, if you look at the bottom of the pages, is referenced as approx. 34 A.D. just after Christ's resurrection and subsequent appearance to the Nephites. Wow, you don't get what's going on. Read it slowly. savedwheat, I'm going to let you in on a secret. Sometimes different people can have the same name. 3rd Nephi is not even lumped in with 1st or 2nd Nephi and chronologically takes place about 630 years after, with a good portion of it taking place after Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. The verses which you are referencing occur during an account of the resurrected Jesus' ministry to the Nephites, during which time Peter would have been alive. If you're going to engage in diatribes against Latter-day Saint scripture, at least take the time to do some better research and actually read the Book of Mormon. So I'll give you some advice someone once gave me: You don't get what's going on. Read it slowly. 7

What is very impressive is that Joseph was able to do all this as a "con man" by not looking at a KJV but having his face planted in a hat while dictating to a scribe. I like to see you try that. Put your face in a hat and quote the KJV word for word over hundreds of words of KJV text to a scribe and not make mistakes. 1

Thinking Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 It's one thing to disagree with the foundational claims of the LDS Church. It's quite another to make a claim of premeditated deception.
