rodheadlee Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 Hello Rod and Patti...Just a note to ask how the kittens are doing... I see one likes to post here on the board... are they both adjusting? Are you sailing now, or will you leave soon... GGThey're doing really good. They are learning the deck of the boat and not to go ashore or overboard. We watch them most of the time outside. I still have to dig out the netting and install it. They have about doubled in size and Leia is a picky eater. Benny eats anything. We have many birds here where we're at and they love to hide out and listen to the birds, Benny's jaw gets chattering when he sees them. They like being out at night but they like to hide in the daytime. We can hear them scamper on nthe deck above us, they sound like a whole herd of cats We'll be here for 2 more years getting things done to the boat and replenishing the Cruising Kitty. It'll be good that they will have 2 years aboard before we leave. They will be young adults.

Kenngo1969 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 ... They could be named Hey and You. That way when they are called for feeding y'all could just say " Hey, You, come for dinner! How 'bout "Thing 1" and "Thing 2," a la The Cat In The Hat? Both of my old stake president's counselors are named Adam. When last I saw him, I said, "You know, your leadership meetings must be pretty interesting. You can't just ask, 'What do you think about that, Adam?' without creating some confusion. The Cat In The Hat Had 'Thing 1' and 'Thing 2,' so I guess you must have 'Adam 1' and 'Adam 2.'" Then I imitated an LAPD dispatcher: "1-Adam-1, 1-Adam-1, 211 in progress, Laurel Canyon north of Kittridge. 1-Adam-2, back up 1-Adam-1."
Kenngo1969 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 You should probably invest in a big net with a long pole, in case one of them falls into the water.More Cat In The Hat allusions: As fast as I could,I went after my net.And I said, "With my netI can get them I bet.I bet, with my net,I can get those things yet!" 2
rodheadlee Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 Oh, to be out of the rat race like that...Yeah buying a car was really counter productive now I go to work to pay for my car 'cause I need a car to go to work so I go to work to pay for my car 'cause I need a car to go to work. Sheeesh I'd rather face a good storm at sea than be in the rat race. 2
rodheadlee Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) ok, here is a picture of me sailing off the coast of Florida. I had to shrink it down so we'll see how it comes out. It came out fine, now can you all post pics of yourselves? just use the attach file button on the full editor. After a wile I'll have to delete some pics because you can only store like 5mb on the server. Edited June 8, 2015 by rodheadlee 1
strappinglad Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Hey, your boat looks a lot like my office. As Brigham once said, he could lay his hands on any tool at any time. For me, I know exactly where I put that particular phone number which I wrote on that scrap of paper which is among all those other scraps of paper. I too envy your lifestyle. Sad about having to work to pay for the way to get to work. Leaves so much less time to sail !

Garden Girl Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Hello Rod...For some reason the picture of you on the board off Florida has stopped opening up... it did the first time but no longer... the kittens still open up immediately every time I click on them, but not you and the boat... Is it my computer or something on your end? I wanted to show my sis both the kittens and you/boat. She's a cat person like me and loves the idea of the kittens sailing the world with you... will you check your end. I can't understand why it would open right up when I first clicked on it, but now it won't... just keeps the little circular thingy going round and round. GG

Garden Girl Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 If it is the one in post 31, it works for me.That's the one... when Rod first put it up, I was able to click on the picture and it opened up to larger view... now it doesn't open up but the little white box with circular movement just sits there and doesn't open... the kitten picture opens just fine... Curious how it opened the first couple times, so I was able to see Rod and the boat... now it doesn't open to the enlarged view and I wanted my sister to see Rod and the kittens. At least she'll see the kittens... GG
rodheadlee Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 it still works for me. The circle thingy means it's trying to load. Try signing offyour net provider and signing back on.

Garden Girl Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 (edited) So, Rod... how are the kittens doing by now... are they used to the boat? Edit to add: Rod, I meant to ask you about the all white kitty... Is it deaf that you can tell? Many times all white kitties are deaf, but if they have some other color also, even just a patch, for some reason they are not deaf... don't know why that seems to happen in many all-white cats... Hope all is well with you and Patti... from the beach... GG Edited July 26, 2015 by Garden Girl

Hope all is well with you and Patti... from the beach... GGThey are doing fine, learning to swim. Bennie went in the pond twice. The second time he did a swan dive off the bow of the boat. He tripped while playing and decided to go with it and did a perfect dive. They crawl out under the docks and I have to get a crowbar and remove a concrete paver to get them out. Leia can find her way out by herself. She is much more coordinated than Bennie. Bennie is such a happy go lucky guy, every leaf, bug or blade of grass is something to be discovered, cherished, and played with. They are the cause of much prayer. 2
Garden Girl Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Good morning, RodIt's been two months since we last heard how the kittens are doing... they must be getting pretty big by now... So how are they doing? Can you post a current picture of them? You never did say if the white kitty is deaf? I had asked last time because this seems to happen often with all-white cats... if they have another color, even a small patch, they don't seem to have the deafness. Do they finally have their sea legs?I hope this finds you and Patti doing well... Pray for you often... I notice you said you were working on the ark... will you be heading out anytime soon? Or do you have to sit tight for the winter... of course some places on this globe it will be summer... from the beach... GG
