The Nehor Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I am not talking about 1700s and 1800s slavery made most popular with the South. That kind of slavery is repugnantly racist and a perversion of traditional slavery. Because of it we lost our roots and lost the virtue of traditional slavery. We need to go back to the ways of Greece and Rome. What is the point of foreign wars if we do not gain captives we can civilize and teach American ways? Why do we let people starve rather then sell themselves? Why do we use fines and prison sentences when we could use that surplus labor for the betterment of true Americans?Thoughts? 2

canard78 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 LOL. You make a really good point. (Fox News endorses this thread. It's really, really The Truth)

Maybe I'm a bit of a dullard, but I'm guessing what you're hoping to accomplish with this parody is to help the unenlightened come to see the foolishness of the Church's defense of traditional marriage. There are surely many radical feminists and progressives who would view the comparison between traditional marriage and ancient forms of slavery as being totally legitimate and fully analogous. Heck, why not admit that the radical feminists and progressives see slavery and traditional marriage as being one and the same thing?

I had no point to make. I do think SSM is a mistake and do not consider slavery and marriage analogous though slavery we did reinstitute it we could bring back concubines as at least one prophet has suggested might be necessary. Now please do not derail this thread by bringing in gay marriage unless of course one or both of the marrying couple are slaves. Gotta stay on topic.

Crypto Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) I support this traditional institution of slavery. At the very finest people would no longer have to worry about the skin color or nationality of the slave. I think the Romans had this right of course. Rather than branding troublesome slaves we could use modern technology to implant chips into them, thus rendering tracking much more efficient. Slaves could even pay off their servitude, what a quite enlightened principal. And just imagine all the troublesome children that would be sold off and effectively be taken care of.I find it quite improper for slaves to be married regardless of gender pairing, unless the master is in approval of it. They are of course the masters property.Overall slavery could very well improve the condition of society. Edited April 14, 2015 by Crypto

The Nehor Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 You must be easily amused...... A good way to live. I highly recommend it. Being hard to amuse means less laughter and joy in ones life. 3

VideoGameJunkie Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I crave freedom and being able to do what I want. I felt like a slave or prisoner when I was in the MTC. It's sad, but that's how I felt.
