Streaming "clean" Movies?

Has anyone found a good place to stream edited movies?

I'm still waiting for my invitation to  http://www.editedmoviesonline.com/  which seems likely to be a great solution.   Its frustrating that Netflix, Amazon, and hulu haven't provided an option yet for clean edited versions of their TV shows and movies.

Thanks!

I have had to learn when to click the X button. I did run into a string of nice movies starting with "Heaven's Gate", on Netflix. It appears to have been filmed along the Wasatch front.

Streaming of "clean" versions of movies is ethically murky.  I suspect anyone who starts such a service will be shut down once the growth of their user base gains any momentum.

It has to do with copyright violations.

Every company which has come along and tried to rent edited videos (like cleanflicks) has been sued and forced to stop because changing the movie without permission violates the copyright.

If I buy a car and then begin to customize it with different wheels ,tires, seats, engine components, I could reach a point at which the manufacturers warranty is void but at no time will I be violating any patent or intellectual property. Once the car is paid for I can then sell it to whomever I wish with all enhancements intact. As long as the vehicle complies with rules  for safety I probably can rent it out if I so desire. Movies, it seems, are above such uses forever and ever, amen.

Apparently movies don't work like that

I understand they resolved the issue by having the customer purchase a "regular" copy of the movie and shipped the "clean" version.  I think they closed down by lack of customers.

Not sure how this would work with streaming movies.

One version was you purchase the movie, then downloaded the edited versions or possible a program that edited it...you had to purchase a dvd player to use it...usually have a couple of levels of editing allowed.

Here is one that is still going, it's been at it for at least 10 years IIRC as a friend of ours used to work for them:

ClearPlay is all about choice. You establish your ClearPlay settings based on your family values, then they’ll automatically be applied to anything put in the player from our list of over 4,500 ClearPlay compatible movies and TV shows.

So even when you’re not around, your family will be protected from the content you don’t want them exposed to—and they'll enjoy the best content from the latest releases.

That's cool.  I thought clearplay was one of the ones that got shut down.

I believed they tried with the idea that it altered how the artist wanted it seen even if the original movie is left intact, but considering how they allow TV and airlines to alter them in the same way to make them more profitable, I call hypocrisy when I see that argument.

I believe the dvd player (which is a lot more expensive than it used to be (we bought ours for $100, but that was a basic unit at least 7 years ago, it probably has more bells and whistles now) is offered through Target, was last time I checked.

I completely agree, but it sure didn't stop them from shutting Cleanflicks down. They seem to like their double standards.

My son happened upon the app from Microsoft that shows very recent movies.  I thought it was illegal at first.  One of the movies seemed to be video'd in the movie theatre, it had an echo.  I think it's ethically wrong, but who knows.  I'd like to get feed back on this also if the OP doesn't mind.
