My conclusion is I can cut back on entertainment and focus on reading the scriptures more, help out my parents, think of others more and quit only thinking about myself. 1

Set some realistic, specific, actionable, measurable goals for yourself; what you have there is extremely vague. Be as specific as possible. OVERLY specific, even. Since you love video games, maybe this article will be helpful. What I want to want to be is the divine version of the mortal me that my Heavenly Parents and Savior see when They think of me or see me. 2

It seems an unnecessary goal when one is trying to live as God wants...iow, it will happen anyway like walking four miles a day will happen if one is working on meeting the goal of walking five miles a day. 1

The first seems self-centered and the second is too easily perverted to being about appearances. I kneel down and ask God for an honest assessment of how I am doing. I get feedback. I do my best to act on it. I do not do this often. It is a rough ride. 1

I have neither and do just fine. Then, you could go volunteer at DI, or Bishops Warehouse. And yes, connecting with your parents, like mowing grass, or making cake. Yummm. You do not say if you are boy or girl. When I was young, all of us had a bat and a softball, almost no one had a mitt, and we just played in the streets. Of course if you have 2 feet of snow, not so good, I suppose. You have great ideas. Let me know how it goes. 1

However I would be really cautious in taking a measurement as some are prone to do in the prevailing theology. Could I suggest the parable located at: Luke 18: 9-14.........? "Let me count the ways"

As you get more and more into reading more stuff you might get the bug like I did where you are looking for more things to read, and I know about something you might like to get for Christmas. There's a software program called a Person Gospel Library that contains a lot of the classics, about 100 or so books, and it's available as a free download to a pocket computer like an android or an ipad. Rivers Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I would suggest studying chapter 6 in Preach My Gospel. It's all about Christlike attributes. There is even a self-evaluation quiz that will help you figure out what attributes you should work on. 1
