Duncan Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 have you ever had an inkling or just a weird feeling that you've met someone before but you know you haven't? if so why do you think that it happens? I have had that feeling a few times but I can't explain it
Gillebre Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 In some cases, perhaps deja vu, in other cases-premortal relationships. 1
CV75 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 have you ever had an inkling or just a weird feeling that you've met someone before but you know you haven't? if so why do you think that it happens? I have had that feeling a few times but I can't explain itYes, the first conversation I had with my wife. I asked her a few questions to try to figure it out, to no avail. We were married 6 months later, 32 years strong now! Whether it was a chemical, emotional, physical or spiritual connection, I'm not complaining! 1
Duncan Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 I saw on facebook the other night a picture of someone I had no idea of who they were, I know people they know but I just had that inkling or something about that I know them but I have never met them or anything, it's crazy!

Duncan Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 It would be interesting to see what plays out if you were ever to meet him/her in person!it'a woman and severe heartburn, fainting spells, clammy hands, and general forgetfulness (what's your name? uh............who me?........right.....I, I, I honestly don't even know......are there any men here who remember me and recall my name?!)-but, aside from all that I dunno, maybe I am nuts but I know that person, I know them! but I haven't ever met them.

Tacenda Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 (edited) I run into people all the time that I feel I've known before. It's very odd. Recently while on vacation I met a couple from Boulder Nevada. He was a preacher and his wife is who I was drawn to the most. I know I've seen her before. It was crazy.Duncan: that could be a great pick up line for you. And it would be the truth!"Have you ever had an inkling or just a weird feeling that you've met someone before but you know you haven't?" Edited May 10, 2013 by Tacenda 1
Questing Beast Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 By my age, everyone begins to look like people I have met before. I ignore the feeling. We all know each other, probably intimately. If existence is anything like "The Egg", the explanation is obvious. Could be more true than we appreciate....
Iggy Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 have you ever had an inkling or just a weird feeling that you've met someone before but you know you haven't? if so why do you think that it happens? I have had that feeling a few times but I can't explain itYes, I have had this happen to me many times in my life. About three years before I came back into the church I met a woman through my first husband. She was looking for a home here and he was a real estate agent. When we met, we asked each other questions trying to figure out when we knew each other. I finally concluded that it had to have been in the preexistence. Even though she wasn't a member of the church, she knew exactly what I was talking about. Most of the time, it is others who say they know me. When first husband and I were traveling the west coast with his job, people would come up to me in restaurants and talk to me as if they had last seen me the day before. In one place in Montana, this cowboy jerked my hubby off the bar stool and punched him in the face, then grabbed me by the arm, calling me by a different name, demanding to know why I wasn't home with the baby?? After the cops were called to intervene, I had to show him my drivers license to prove I wasn't his wife - that and she and their baby showed up. She and I could have been identical twins. Except I have a sexy little mole on the right side of my face next to my nose. In the six years we were on the road, I was tempted many times to wear a necklace that said: I am Iggy from WA State. Standing in check out lines in stores, I have had babies reach out for me to hold them. Their reactions to me, startle their parents even. Babies are still so close to the veil, they still remember and recognize you from the other side. Second husband & I lived in AZ. The Navajo Indian babies reacted this way the most. Nearly jumping out of a parents arms to have me hold them. One father was so totally amazed that his son wanted me to hold him. When a baby reaches for you, smiling and cooing ~ what do you do? Hold him, right? This child patted my face, laughed, and gave me lots of slobbery kisses. He was such a sweety. Mom, Dad and Grandmother were stunned. This child would not willingly go to anyone other than Mom and Dad. Not even Grandma or Grandpa could hold him. If he hadn't been such a chubby baby, I would have held him longer. The Navajo's are built like brick houses! This child was chubby looking, but he was solid and heavy. The father asked me why his son went to me. Without even thinking, I said that we knew each other in the preexistence. That he was still close to the veil and remembered - I on the other hand no longer remember, other than the Holy Ghost telling me that yes, we knew each other. Dad & Mom totally understood me.

Maybe that's just because I'm a manly man who smiles while still having a serious look on my face, though. You're probably a pretty lady who smiles bigger than I do while also having a more bubbly personality. And btw, I live in WA state too, usually staying near the S of the state. Maybe we've seen each other before.

I was raised in Seattle - now I live on the Central Oregon Coast- been here since 1979 - with just a short time in Casa Grande AZ.From 1963 until 1970 I went to the North Seattle Stake 5th Ward. Now I am in the Corvallis Stake boundaries.
Calm Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 (edited) Totally cool, but just to be a little bit nitpicky it's actually more proper to call it the premortal life rather than preexistence. However, "pre-existence" or "preexistence" is used more often than "premortal life" or "pre-mortal life" on lds.org (about 4000 to 3500 hits according to google)add-on: did a little bit more playing with the search function...it appears the favourite phrase is "premortal existence" coming in at 8700 hits Edited May 11, 2013 by calmoriah

We get so many visitors in the summer... on a holiday we can sometimes have up to 400+ people attend our small ward. We fill the chapel and the full cultural hall. We often ask visiting deacons to help pass sacrament at such times because we have so few. If you're in Corvallis stake boundaries, you must be in the Newport south area... I'm in Monmouth stake and our boundary is from Lincoln City to just before Depoe Bay.I grew up in Rialto/San Bernardino (TSS... small world)... moved to San Fran from '78 - 1990... retired to Oregon coast in 1990 and have been here ever since... love it!I have people always wondering where they have met me... I just tell them I have that sort of face, but it is strange...GG

We fill up in the summer too with travelers. I love the Oregon coast too. Honestly if the members of my Branch were all in a town in Montana, or Wyoming - then I would love that town. The members make this town home for me. 1
