Walden Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I like jello, but I don't like some of the things put in it.Don't like being called an apostate because I make an aesthetic choice to keep my hair long.Seems like you are in good company with the long hair Nathair, considering every single LDS depiction of Jesus Christ that I have ever seen shows him with long hair.I'm no longer a member, but I when I was, I was always perplexed by the short courting/engagement periods of the majority of the YA's in our stake, particularly those that had gone off to BYU. Likewise, I was also perplexed by the penchant for the females in those relationships to abandon their studies after they had found their husband.
bluebell Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 On the marriage line of things: 19 yr olds getting married.I'm completely with you on this one! 1
Nathair/|\ Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Well congrats, duncan! Seriously though, I'll let you know if your right. Currently, considering my relationship issues, probably not. The man I'm interested in has gone MIA big time for no apparent reason, and I'm not the type to blind myself to when relationships are about to fall apart. So either come spring I will be barely on the mend of a broken heart (known the guy for 5 years, liked him for 3, and have been with him (though not dating because of me or him, depending) for 1.5 years give or take... so it has the making for a killer heartbreak and I've never been in love before) or possibly planning if a miracle ensues. For what it's worth, platonic virtual hugs.
blackstrap Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 ah, sorry to hear that! Have a friend that I have enjoyed their company but she was dating this man for the last 2.5 years and h is a massive jerk to her so they broke up. I am trying in my own small ways to throw my name in for consideration. Anyways hope things go well!If you send me a pic of the two of you together,I will show it to my wife, who has a good track record for looking at the photo and giving her " impression ' as to whether or not the relationship will work.

Calm Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 certaintly later then 2009 but no later then 2011! I admit it's a needle in cornfield!Scott says he doesn't recognize it and it doesn't really seem like something that would be in the Church News, since as you say it is a somewhat awkward story. He suggests perhaps you saw it in Meridan or some other LDS related publication?I read one piece that discussed couples in Taiwan that had gone on missions and then gotten married to each other, but they got hooked up the usual way. Perhaps you read that piece about the same time as you saw the other story and got the two confused?http://www.ldschurchnews.com/articles/57346/Blessings-in-Taiwan-along-correct-course.html

BlueDreams Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 it's possible its on meridian! I haven't even thought of that! ha! believe me if I find it i'll post it as it's very unusualOddly enough, i was doing a fireside last night on stress management on the mission and this one gal said a stress was possible revelation from leaders. In which most of us were like, huh? how? She then preceded to tell us that her parents had called the ZL and her mom in to the office and explained that this was some revelation. The revelation was prefaced: "when you two get married..." (and apparently they did, since, you know, their daughter was telling the story). There was this awkward pause and someone mentioned that was probably an exceptional case.I just found it a little crazy that I'd hear around the same thing twice in such a short period. With luv,BD 1
Damien the Leper Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 I know eh! I have been looking for it and I recall reading it but ah, buckets of woe and gushers of sorrow that I haven't come up with the goods yet!I don't know if it will be good or bad if/when you find the information.
Damien the Leper Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 I'm completely with you on this one!Hold off until you're at least 25 or 26. Enjoy being a young adult for a while...seriously!
