He only has five months...I think I should call him home.Pa Pa, his mission is not about you, it is about him. There are many of us who do not have children who can go on missions who love to contribute to help those who do. You should give those of us who desire to contribute to the work of God a chance to do so and not deprive us of the blessings.Pa Pa... I agree with Calmoriah... do not ask your son to come home a few months before his mission ends. Let others help...About guns... I have a .38 Smith & Wesson that I bought a couple of years ago... after taking a gun safety course at the Comm Coll, taught by the retired Chief of Police (who was also my former bishop). He told our class that normally he had about 10 students; this class was about 25 (it was at a time when fear was that gun laws would change, etc.) When I purchased my gun the store owner told me that gun/ammo sales were what was keeping him in business. I do not believe there is any reason for a person to have an AKC or whatever it is that was used in recent incidents like Colorado. But hunting rifles and handguns like mine I have no objection to and do believe there should be reasonable laws governing them. Criminals and those bent on violence will get a gun, laws or no laws. WE would be the ones left without protection. Living alone, I feel more secure knowing I have my gun, and know how to use it, and, have no qualms about using it if necessary. I would try to avoid it if at all possible... in class we were taught Oregon law about guns, and if you are threatened by someone intruding into your home for instance, you must retreat to a safe area while you holler out a warning that you are armed and they must leave. If you do have to shoot someone, you must always state that you were in fear for your life (which would be true). I'm a good shot...GG
