  1. I am certainly coming to a greater understanding of how actually everybody who criticized Mormon Jesus was right.
  2. We for some reason like to repeat certain tenets such as “God will never lead his prophets astray” and “God is the same today and tomorrow” and “the prophet is led by inspiration”- these beliefs combined lead to mass confusion when change occurs, IMO. For many , this is upsetting.
  3. From the handbook : In our day the garment encourages modesty, but its significance is much deeper. For Church members who have received the endowment, the garment reminds them of their connection to God, their commitment to follow His will, and the blessings and protection God has promised the faithful.
  4. What’s funny is that I was looking at this picture, comparing the two, thinking uh oh she made a mistake posting both the same pictures because Jesus is showing his shoulder, and in fact his nipple in both pictures. I guess they didn’t need to change Jesus outfit. Just the shoulders.🧐
  5. I was always told the same but have heard it said it over and over recently that the “garment is not about modesty.” I almost feel “gaslit”- I would like there to be a final statement on it. I’ll have to do some research and see if there has been something from the church authorities on this issue.
  6. My response was to the OP. His title suggested that long lines (in other words, excitement) was only about sleeveless garments. His grief about changes was juxtaposed against my personal opinion about the changes. I don’t see a problem sharing my interest in the changes released yesterday as my interests reflect the core reasons those changes were made to begin with.
  7. I have been repeatedly told the the purpose of the garment is NOT to reinforce modesty for women. I have suspected otherwise. What is the truth?
  8. Ok. im glad for an opportunity not to have 4 yeast infections a year and im glad for my daughter to not bleed all over her clothes - the one inch does literally zero for me and most women I know.
  9. Why would you be sad about an inch removed from a sleeve? human beings designed them. It’s not like God sent a pattern and the pattern got chucked,
  10. Everyone deserves to be granted a fair trial when it comes to the law. Thank you Teddy for being adamant that we remember this basic tenet. Arrogance and creepy vibes are not elements of court process nor are they proof that he is guilty of a crime. They are simply information. I wouldn’t hang out with him ever, based on what I know as fact about him . The rest is for the court to decide.
  11. Not diagnosing but you might be interested to know a little more about Grandiose Personality Disorder. (it’s a real category from DSM, not some TikTok buzz word off TikTok lol)
  12. I hear this as “women are causing this problem “. I disagree. Viewers need to take more accountability for their behavior.
  13. My opinion: I see these things all as very significant in the well-being and development of children. Equal to the impact of a man on children and spouses. Anecdotally, in my Therapy office I see just as many people destroyed by abuse and neglect of fathers I do of mothers. Of husbands as I do of wives. There is no gender that has the corner on the market with regards to potential for both feeding and starving. Agreed. Devastating. I’m sorry to learn that. No doubt, all true. We all have far more impact on each other than we realize both men and women. I appreciate that. Those words don’t get expressed to one another nearly often enough, especially on social media. Thank you. I commit to the same.
  14. FWIW I’m a woman and in most ways I’ve been treated very kindly by church members. I don’t have even almost the influence or the impact or the power or the vote that any man has. I don’t think that’s debatable.
  15. Being that I haven’t donated to anybody related to this tragedy, I’m not sure that I can contribute to the conversation, but I will say it sure would be a pretty good Hollywood ending if the family donated to a victim.
  16. Anyone who “actually” vies for a leadership position at church deserves to have one. 💯
  17. What a coincidence!! I did the same thing!
  18. Perhaps the presiding Bishop will be brought in as apostle.
  19. My dad used to do “ security” for seminary. He always packed. I don’t think anybody knew it. Don’t ask. Don’t tell.
  20. Mental illness, combined with a significant rise in social anger, combined with prevalence of murder as a way of effectively communicating that anger terrifies me. It’s “cute” how people politicize this. In my opinion, turn into politics is one way of numbing a cold, painful reality. I felt a little bit different sitting in church yesterday. Not afraid exactly. I can’t really describe it. I feel deep pain for our brothers and sisters. What would it be like to have to return to church? I get that faith can overcome, but there is the human element of PTSD as well. I really feel sick and sad.
  21. I doubt the Lord has concerns that His message would be overlooked next week.
  22. We already know this but we can afford whatever time is needed. The church is in good hands with 14 experienced leaders.
