Temple work

Recommended Posts

Would one of you ladies like to do my Mom's temple work? Most of you know my transient situation as well as my temple recommend situation. It's been 2 years now since mom passed away and I'm sure it would be spiritually uplifting to help her and our family. You can either PM me or just say what information you need right here in the Social Hall. Thank you very much.

I would love to do it, it would be a honor to do so, but she might have to wait a few more years. :)  I am working on getting back to church consistently and while the plan is to get to the temple for endowments sometime this summer, every time I think I have moved out of the vertigo danger phase finally, something triggers another episode, so I slow my efforts back down a notch again.  (Overall still pleased with them)

The baptism aspect of it is a bit concerning especially. Makes me think I had better get my husband to dunk me in the pool before I ever attempt those again (the ordinance seems like it might be too close to a movement that sets off vertigo for me during episodes now I am thinking about it).  I might freak out someone if I started clenching whoever was performing the ordinance out of a need to grab onto something that felt stable, lol, if the world started slipping sideways again.

Mom has patience. It could work. I'm the one lacking patience. I'm not as bad as I used to be. Sailing an 8 mile an hour boat thousands of miles has helped.

From my daughter:

I would be happy to do it, it will probably take me a few weeks to do it. I could probably do every other week in June, so baptism one week, initatory the next week I would go, and then I could do endowment/sealing over break the end of June/first week in July.

Assuming I can schedule the temple appointments though. All the appointments have been getting booked a few weeks out.

Rain: I understand if you would prefer a fellow board member doing it though.

Wow, good for you Calm in wanting to do this with your situation. ❤️ But maybe different people can do different things. And some other women here could help you cover all the sessions, or is that not how it works. It's been too long.

The youth in our ward were always looking for names to take to the temple to do baptisms.  Maybe they could help out with that part.

Good idea. Definite possibility.

This would be great. What information do you need?

I'm going to send her info to you in a private message. I'm not sure what you know about the process and she says she is happy to explain anything.

I'm the wrong gender, or I would love to help.  Sorry.  :( :unknw: It seems, though, that you won't be lacking for help from people who don't have that problem. ;) :D  Good luck and Godspeed!
