rodheadlee Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Vernal Equinox was 2:24pm today here in the Pacific time zone. It's all downhill from here. 1
blackstrap Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 I see the big snows in the Sierra. Hope they don't melt too fast. 1
rodheadlee Posted March 20, 2023 Author Posted March 20, 2023 I'm ready for some long days and warm nights. Bring on that global warming.

My daughter is….annoyed, let’s say. She hates the limbo when snow coverage is halfhearted so dead grass is in view and the snow looks more dirty than brilliant. Once the grass starts greening up and buds appear, gray is better tolerated.. Edited March 20, 2023 by Calm

MustardSeed Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 It feels like it’s been a very long winter in the Northwest. 1
Rain Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 It has definitely sprung. Turned the AC on the last 2 nights.

I don’t feel so guilty then for the AC going on here…though it’s only in the 70s outside. I knew being in a south wall top of the house room it would heat up. Rather surprised it did it that much….but just realized I have black curtains up without the white blackouts behind them right now. Know what project I will be doing tonight. 1

Calm Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 (edited) I tape a four inch hepa filter on a box fan and stick it in a window. In a test by air quality specialists, they rated it as high or higher than the top air purifiers. It cools off the room at night pretty quickly at this time of year, thank goodness. But once it gets warmer than 55 at night, it’s useless. I had it going most of the winter at least on low. But anything over 75 in the house and I am a limp, wrung out dishrag. That used to be my favorite temp. Oh to be young agsin, lol. If the basement had a bathtub, I would be living there all year round, coming up to look at the sun every now and then and then hiding back in my hole like the groundhog, but there’s no room for it. I would love to build a house here in Utah that had its roof at ground level with lots of skylights and a covered central courtyard full of green plants and flowers. Edited April 12, 2023 by Calm
Dario_M Posted April 12, 2023 Posted April 12, 2023 (edited) you can say that. Here in Lisbon it's allready getting pritty hot. It looks here more like summer then spring actually. Edited April 12, 2023 by Dario_M
rodheadlee Posted April 15, 2023 Author Posted April 15, 2023 (edited) I love hot weather. I'm working up in Eureka and the highest 52 and sunny it feels warm because it was 36 last night. My old bones do not like cold weather. I'm lucky that I'm working inside the boat. It's 101 ft 1961 Vosper. I'm redoing a lot of the wood in the wheelhouse and putting in a remodeled set of stairs. Anyways it's nice and warm in the Wheelhouse. Edited April 15, 2023 by rodheadlee 2
MustardSeed Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 I’m visiting the Midwest. The Magnolias have begun to bloom- but alas they expect freezing temps tomorrow. That will do some damage 4
