rodheadlee Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 (edited) For the first time in 3.6 years we are going to Church. What can we expect? We have been paying tithes the whole time. We are believers circumstances prevented us from going most of the time. Being shy and a lousy Spanish speaker prevented us other times. Most of you know our story. Calm Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 (edited) Depends on the week: https://www.ldsdaily.com/church-lds/church-officially-announces-2-hour-church-schedule/ Quote “The Sunday meeting schedule will be adjusted in the following ways, beginning in January 2019,” Elder Cook said. “The Sunday Church meetings will consist of a 60-minute sacrament meeting each Sunday, focused on the Savior, the ordinance of the sacrament, and spiritual messages. After time for transition to classes, Church members will attend a 50-minute class that will alternate each Sunday. Sunday School will be held on the first and third Sundays. Priesthood quorums, Relief Society, and Young Women meetings will be held on the second and fourth Sundays. Meetings on the fifth Sunday will be under the direction of the bishop. Primary will be held each week during this same 50-minute period and will include singing time and classes.” According to church website, the text should be Genesis 24-27. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/come-follow-me-for-individuals-and-families-old-testament-2022/09?lang=eng Our ward calendar, accessed through my church account, says it is going to be RS/EQ (there is no High Priest Group now, men meet together like women do), but not sure if this is true church wide given the varied scheduling due to ward and stake conferences. If you have an online church account, you should check the ward/branch calendar and hopefully they are listing that info. Edited February 27, 2022 by Calm 1
rodheadlee Posted February 27, 2022 Author Posted February 27, 2022 Thanks Calm. I don't think I'll make it. I have too many chores to do for the family before I go back to work tomorrow.
rpn Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 There will always be a reason. IME, if you decide to show up, whatever else you have to do works out more easily. 1
