Since there's no way of knowing that. Or maybe a lot of atheists are angry that if there is a God why would he let so many suffer in such inhumane ways. And that's when they refuse to believe in a God. And even think if there is a God, they wouldn't want to believe in someone like that. So in a lot of ways, that shows that many atheists have a very good conscience, because they are so empathetic of others they are angry at a God that could do that. A very clear conscience, the kind of one that they hope they've never done any kind of harm to someone or a people. And if we believe in the scriptures, that God in those scriptures may not be the kind of God people would want to worship. So it's nice for me anyway, to not believe in every written line in the scriptures. Because that's not the kind of God I can believe in either. Edited February 6, 2022 by Tacenda
The Nehor Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Ironically more then a few atheists seem to be angry at God for not existing. It is irrational but humans aren’t particularly rational. 1 hour ago, Tacenda said: Right, thanks I even knew that. Being angry at injustice though doesn’t make you a good person. In my experience it can lead to that but it can also lead people to figure out if they can join the people profiting from the injustice. I have also seen this kind of anger at God from people who are oppressing others. A weird way of shifting their own guilt to a non-existent God who should have stopped them or something I suppose. 3

And if you believe we do, when do you actually receive a conscience from God? Because I believe a conscience is built in. I said you have to go to God to follow your conscience and then you replied with the above Your conscience IS God!! It's the still small voice!!, the Holy Ghost!! What is the practical difference between the HG and alleged "light of Christ?" Experientially, it is a distinction without a difference. Yes, there is a doctrinal difference, I know. "God" is one, a committee of 3 Persons. Two of these are "messengers", one is the HG and the other is Christ, The Word. Both are linked, and named "God". They are one in purpose!! To hear your conscience is to hear the voice of God! Edited February 6, 2022 by mfbukowski 2

So ask God what better means and then you will have your answer. As always, science does not provide definitions of value, just how things work mechanically Science is used to heal people and to build concentration camp ovens to kill, but cannot tell you which is better! Science is value neutral, and that is why we need religion. Yes atheists are moral but don't typically know what a conscience is. You have to go to God for that Wonderfully said and I fully endorse everything you said as a reflection of my own perspective.

Which is it, a rabbit or a duck? "Actually" as far as those brains go, it doesn't matter, we can see both at once, but one gives us a WHY answer and both give us HOW answers. What is it really? Man made pixels - electrons and photons and other things we made up names for. It's all human construction made by The Word. Edited February 10, 2022 by mfbukowski 1
Tacenda Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 (edited) This is how some orthodox religions can be so harmful. A post on a faith journey private FB group I'm in, a mother disowns their child over them leaving the LDS church. C/P below: Please post anonymously. My mother denied me as her child today. She said she rather die than have a child fall away from the church. She called me an idiot, she said I was rebellious, she said I was a disgrace to my four Father's and ancestors who brought us across the plains. She told me that she can not love me until I choose the right again. I cried in a voice to text message how I wake up every morning praying and wishing the church was real. That Joseph Smith was a real prophet. And that living my authentic life was the biggest big girl thing I've ever done...I'm 40 y'all. She said she can't love me. She said she chooses the church over me and she will not love me until I rejoin. So I blocked her...everywhere. Edited February 18, 2022 by Tacenda
