They are missing an earthquake. The Eastern Seaboard had one in 2011. I don't recall the size and epicenter but we felt it  in Annapolis ,MD.

5.8 August 23,2011 Louisa,Va

The top is 6 and above and the bottom 8 and above.  So not missing, just not included.  I am going to see if I can find a map of lower numbers, bet it is much more spread out.

Blog is interesting as well.

There aren't specific earthquakes as in the other stuff I posted, but a map of likelihood of feeling an earthquake based on location.

Can't get it to paste, so just read if interested.  Eastern seaboard does show up, but mostly on light side.

Looks like there were two in the 3's the past couple of days.  Looks like aftershocks can come up to years later.  There were almost 7000 aftershocks in the month following a 7.0 earthquake in Alaska.  I knew there could be a lot, but that many is surprising.

https://www.ktva.com/story/39702411/aftershocks-even-large-ones-are-completely-normal

The year's worth for Alaska in 2018 was over 51,000.

So far the missionaries here in Canada are staying. I told them statistically they are safer here than going back home, Canada has like 2000 cases, 20 deaths. In fact they might even get more missionaries coming in from other areas, so nuts!!!!

New guidelines. https://www.deseret.com/faith/2020/3/23/21191679/church-mormon-lds-missionaries-early-releases-united-states-canada

• All elders serving in the U.S. and Canada who have served 21 months or more will be released, shortening their missions by three months.

• All American and Canadian elders returning from serving in other countries due to the pandemic will be released if they have served 18 months.

• All American and Canadian sisters returning from serving in other countries because of the pandemic will be released if they have served 15 months.

Lots more room to spread out and up. ;)

I think this will be the first year when converts baptisms will be so low that the total church membership will decline from 2019.  I don't think the Lord is calling the missionaries home yet but I do believe what we are seeing in the world from earthquake, locusts, plagues, fires, and other disasters is just the trailer version of what is coming if the world does not get its act together.

It is a time of crisis. People will have lost loved ones. This often drives up interest in faith. And maybe when we are able to gather together again, people will have greater respect and desire to do so. There may be a rebound effect.

Our ability to measure them has vastly increased as well as populations in vulnerable areas so more damage and casualties even without changes in the earthquakes themselves.

There is also the issue of what is meant by “increased” as in since when?  100 years ago?  Since Christ was on earth?  Adam?  Prehistoric?  Prehumans?

If we are depending on histories and man’s perceptions for counts of past earthquakes, we will undoubtedly be seen as increasing. I am not sure how to determine frequency and strength of earthquakes geologically except by having access to where the plates slip (geology was my favorite class in grade 8 in part because of worksheets where we had to decipher from ‘slices of earth‘ what happened and in what order; I was very good at it).  I might do some research and see how they manage.

There are increases of minor earthquakes due to fracking.  Nothing over 3 though.   Still looking for other types of increases.  Not seeing anything (going up in some places, going down in others)

What do we think?  The start of fulfillment of prophecy?

President Brigham Young:
Do you think there is calamity abroad now among the people? Not much. All we have yet heard and all we have experienced is scarcely a preface to the sermon that is going to be preached. When the testimony of the Elders ceases to be given, and the Lord says to them, "Come home; I will now preach my own sermons to the nations of the earth," all you now know can scarcely be called a preface to the sermon that will be preached with fire and sword, tempests, earthquakes, hail, rain, thunders and lightnings, and fearful destruction. What matters the destruction of a few railway cars? You will hear of magnificent cities, now idolized by the people, sinking in the earth, entombing the inhabitants. The sea will heave itself beyond its bounds, engulfing mighty cities. Famine will spread over the nations, and nation will rise up against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and states against states, in our own country and in foreign lands. (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 8, p. 123, July 15, 1860)

Elder Orson Pratt:
When God has called out the righteous, when the warning voice has been sufficiently proclaimed among tile Gentile nations, and the Lord says, "It is enough," he will also say to his servants—"O, ye, my servants, come home, come out from the midst of these Gentile nations, where you have labored and borne testimony for so long a period; come out from among them, for they are not worthy; they do not receive the message that I have sent forth, they do not repent of their sins, come out from their midst, their times are fulfilled. Seal up the testimony among them and bind up the law." (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 18, p. 64, July 25, 1875)

Elder Heber C. Kimball:
The judgments of God will be poured out upon the wicked to the extent that our elders from far and near will be called home. Or, in other words, the gospel will be taken from the Gentiles and later on will be carried to the Jews. (Deseret News, Church Department, May 23, 1931, p. 3)

Absolutely fulfillment (partial) of prophecy.
