Last time it was the Sabbath “On the fourth Sunday of each month, elders quorums and Relief Societies discuss a topic selected by the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. The fourth-Sunday topic will be updated after every general conference. From now until the next general conference, the topic will be “Ministering to Others.” Each month, leaders or teachers may choose to lead discussions on any of the following principles related to ministering.” I don't see the change as having been made yet on lds.org, but it has in the Gospel Library App. The above is a cut and paste from the app. Edited April 6, 2018 by ksfisher 2 Link to comment

Jeanne
Talk about what to do and where to go if there is an individual or family crisis..phone numbers...a protocol with the bishop being 2nd or 3rd in that process. Talk openly about revelation..what it means..who can receive it..and how to tell that the spirit confirms. While doing this, talk about the new changes and how to reach out. Have your bishop for one Sunday explain how he makes choices for assignments and what discernment he has found in being in the office of a Bishop. Use these Sundays for topics that have never been shared..A good class on parenting ....suggestions for couples...and for those who are single and dating..Let the RS participate in a way that confirms that they have much to offer ...not to just women..but to the young men who are coming along..vise versa. 1 Link to comment

Or perhaps we could follow the direction given by the prophet, open our minds and our hearts, and learn something that will help us as we strive to minister as Jesus did. 1 Link to comment

There are suggestions given in the gospel library app. My question us when does it start, this month or in May? At first, I was thinking May but since the app has been updated already, maybe it's April? 1 Link to comment

You know, I think that is a nugget well worth following up on there. Some time could well be spent in identifying people with needs, but then time could well be spent in doing the actual ministering, at least to some degree. There would be logistics problems with everyone up and leaving that third hour to go out into the wilderness with families and children, but there are few problems that planning could not resolve. Learning about ministering as Jesus did will be a great sacrament meeting talk though. I'm interested in eliminating the 3rd hour meeting and turning it into a 1/month evening event with all the Melchizedek priesthood. priesthood opening exercises so tough to get through. President Monson leaves priesthood meeting to go minister: (They Will Come, April 1997) "When I served as a bishop, I noted one Sunday morning that one of our priests was missing from priesthood meeting. I left the quorum in the care of the adviser and visited Richard’s home. His mother said he was working at the West Temple Garage. I drove to the garage in search of Richard and looked everywhere, but I could not find him. Suddenly I had the inspiration to gaze down into the old-fashioned grease pit situated at the side of the station. From the darkness I could see two shining eyes. Then I heard Richard say, “You found me, Bishop! I’ll come up.” After that he rarely missed a priesthood meeting." Link to comment
