Ham Clam Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Sometimes I think we included to focus on the negative side of things, so I wanted to ask for some good news. What does everyone think were best Mormon things to happen in 2014? (Institution Church, local level, from academia, causes, ect).My YSA branch put on a one-day Conference that I got to help out with. I was a member of the "dating police" in a skit. Working on the Conference can around the right time as I had gotten new medication and was working to elevate my depression. I had been dealing with it for a very long time, and It felt like something had finally lifted in me by the time the YSA Conference was over. The Asian Mormon Studies Conference was really interesting to me, as well as Standing Apart: Mormon Historical Consciousness and the Concept of Apostasy. The General Women's Meeting being a part of General Conference is cool too. 2
rameumptom Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 All of the quiet hours of service our members do throughout the world in their communities. I know our stake Relief Society makes baby blankets and clothing for poor newborns, gather clothing and provide food (largely from our bishop's storehouse) for several pantries in the area. It is an amazing operation, which they've done for several years now. 2
