Ahab Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 As a father of 2 sons I kinda get at least part of the reason why I care if my children agree with me and my ideas, the best of which I got and still get from our Father, but I'm still at least a little amazed that I care so much about what our Father thinks and how he feels about things. I mean, it's the ideal position for any father to be in, to have his children care so much about what he thinks and how he feels. Don't you think?I mean, basically, we worship the man!Does it seem at least a little bit strange to anyone else who cares about what and how he thinks?Those who really don't care need not answer, because if I didn't care I would likely agree with you that it's really not necessary or important, but for those who do care, do you think you can explain it so that others can understand? 1

He has spent all his efforts in trying to get us to know what he thinks, and countless numbers who have given their lives to, and their life's a well in seeking to know him and trying to let us know what they have learned about him.

Not that we don't care any at all for other's thoughts and feelings, but we do care more about his. Or at least I think we do, generally. I mean, we don't worship other people, right? Can you explain that? Do you think maybe we love him more? And don't give me just another one of those 4 letter words, or a 3 letter word either. I'm looking for a long drawn out explanation with a lot of details, like an essay or something like that. But not a book, though. Something with just the right words in the right amount.
Jeanne Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I think it is because in a general sense, fathers are more difficult to please or at least more difficult to understand how they feel about you. Mothers just love their kids, feel their pain and let them know it. If a father reacts this way, it is like a double gift. Really it just has to do with (IMO) the "makeup" of men.

No mollycoddling or sentimentality will get in the way. If I please God then I am good no matter how others may react to my actions.

Not only is he perfect but he is the standard of perfection, so if or when my thoughts concur with his thoughts then that says something good about me and my thoughts, too.
