California Ordering Churches To Pay For All Surgical Abortions

I don't like the fact that politicians always talk with absolute certainty, most of them do not seem to be open minded, I think I agree with you that it is still an open question.

Do you think abortion should be legal in all circumstances?

I agree

I have little to no use for most politicians, and view them as a necessary evil. ;)

I think it should be a sliding scale. Until viability it should be unrestricted by law. However after viability it becomes more and more difficult particularly if the woman's life isn't in danger.

Totally agree. Sex is not a must. Its a choice. If someone wants to have sex the need to pay for it themselves. And stop getting ofhers to pay for their own choice.

Driving a car is a choice. Do you have automobile insurance?

More and more, in the name of equality, equality for marriage, equality in healthcare, the government is more and more stepping in and telling religion what it can and cannot do. Here's a case where the state of California is ordering churches to pay for surgical abortions.

I cannot begin to express how disturbing a trend we are seeing where government is regulating churches. Our number one freedom is Freedom of Religion. Freedom of Religion is pivotal. If it goes, so do all our individual freedoms. The more power We the People give government the more individual liberty gets pushed aside. The two cannot coexist. Never has. Never will until a perfect person rules government but no one knows when that will happen.

Unfortunately, when the groundwork was being laid for all of this, our prophets/seers/revelators were busy speaking out against constitutional rights for gay people.  With that battle lost, we've now got to try to re-discover our moral high ground and play catch up on the defense of freedom and liberty.

We claimed to be concerned about families... well this issue is hurting my family far more than gay marriage.  I'd love to unwind what is happening to our healthcare system but it isn't going to be easy.

The same with viagra and cialis.

I find that comparison absurd, and totally disgusting. Viagra and cialis fix something that doesn't work. Birth control and abortion treat a healthy, functioning reproductive system as a problem that needs to be fixed.

We have gone from a society that is taught people to be responsible for their own actions. To whatever you do someone else will pay. Perfect example is Sandra Fluke. Im sorry real women pay for their own birth control. If you cant afford it dont have sex.

But really as grownups we need to take ownership and responsibility.

Birth control pills have medical uses other then to prevent pregnancy. Many women use them, including some who are not sexually active. I am not sure whether to ascribe this kind of thinking to ignorance or to misogyny.

Why did you drag abortion into this, and as The Nehor has pointed out BC pills are often used to treat problems with a woman's reproductive system.  Cialis and viagra on the other hand are only used so men can have sex, it doesn't treat the underlying reason men have ED, it just lets them have sex.

I know full well that BC pills are sometimes used for other purposes than preventing pregnancy. However, various activists are not generally talking about that. They are equating pregnancy prevention with physically enabling someone to have sex.

And that is bad?

What is wrong with having sexual intercourse? It is a very basic human need and for more than just reproduction.

Nothing wrong with it, just as their is nothing wrong with using BC pills because a woman wants to have sex but doesn't want to have a baby.  Also just pointing out that cialis and viagra do not fix what ever is causing ED.

Depends on what the underlying cause is.

Depends on what the underlying cause is.

I've never seen anything that shows either treats the underlying cause of ED, from what I've seen it's not presented as a cure for ED just a way to live with it, more like insulin which addresses the symptoms diabetics have but does not treat the diabetes itself.  Either way it is not "disgusting" to compare BC pills to ED pills.

Still depends. ED pills are pretty successful when it is a psychosomatic cause, not so much when it is a neurological one. I don't believe that ED pills or BC pills are "disgusting", when used appropriately, never have.

So?  Why shouldn't a woman want to have sex but not a baby?
