What are some inspiring passages you can recommend from the Book of Mormon.

As a Christian I found the sisters that the church sent out to do studies with me where not useful at all. Theyy seemed shocked abd impressed that I knew about Adam and Eve, Noah's ark and who Jesus was.

No matter how many times I told them I was already a Christian they treated me as if I was an atheist who had no knowledge of the Bible and the Book of Mormon.

When I requested a change to male missionaries mainly due to the fact they would not enter my home as I was a single male at the time, I was told there were none avaliable and to just do my best with the two fenale missionarie.

So what are some good passages that can help someone understand the Book of Mormon more.

I would start with the Title Page, and personally I find the Books of Mormon and Moroni to be very helpful in underastanding the book as a whole.

I love King Benjamin's sermon to his people... Mosiah 2:9 - 4:30...

2 Nephi 9-10...greatest sermon about the anotnemnt. Mosiah 1-5, big doctrine of how the Son can also be the Father (or becomes so). Alma 32, and anything from 3 Nephi 9-end and 4 Nephi.

Everyone should read the BofM once straight through.   If you use the doubleday version, it will read like a non-religious book (and look like one).  I like Ether, and King Benjamin, and Abinadi stories.   The section in Alma 41 or 42 about the nature of faith is illuminating, the stories of when Christ came in 3rd and 4th Nephi are really touching.   Moroni Chapter 10 (and then try to write what you would write to convey what you thought was most important for the next reader).
