Christian Mormon Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I want to find some anti anti mormon blogs. I am looking for resources so i can read up on commentary about the critics of the church and there doingsthanks
canard78 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Jeff Lindsay has a good one. Mormanity.blogspot.comDaniel Petersen sometimes mentions stuff (but it's not his sole focus) on his pathos blog. Beyond that, fairmormon will usually review substantial new books/claims. And this website usually jumps on new stuff. 1
EllenMaksoud Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I want to find some anti anti mormon blogs. I am looking for resources so i can read up on commentary about the critics of the church and there doingsthanksI was Muslim when I started with the Sister Missionaries. I am also almost OC when it comes to research; it being my life blood. I just love to start on a line of research and keep going for as long as it takes to gain satisfaction. Having bored you with all that, I found some really good anti-Mormon things on Youtube. I would deliberately go there and try to find legitimate claims against Mormonisim, but sadly everything I found sounded like almost intellectual whining. It was fun to write to those who made claims against the LDS and ask them questions. In the end, their lame answers did a lot to convince me that the church is THE church. 2

Interpreter and old FARMS articles will have a lot of responses to the major critical books too.
garza4411 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Waste of time. Either to seek them out or to use space on this forum for a catalog of garbage.
Calm Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Waste of time. Either to seek them out or to use space on this forum for a catalog of garbage. Are you saying blogs that challenge anti-mormon material are garbage?
Buzzard Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I find that my old high school pal Jeff Lindsay does a great job smacking down the naysayers.
Scott Lloyd Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I want to find some anti anti mormon blogs. I am looking for resources so i can read up on commentary about the critics of the church and there doingsthanksWhich is the best poison, arsenic or strychnine?
Scott Lloyd Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I think the OP is asking for blogs that critique the work of anti-Mormons.If so, it wasn't phrased very well.
Tacenda Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 This is the perfect blog that is anti anti, I can't think of a better one. On Jeff Lindsay's site you don't have the discussions board available that I know of.
garza4411 Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Are you saying blogs that challenge anti-mormon material are garbage?I admit I didn't understand the query as the OP intended. So I'd change my response a bit: Responses to serious critiques/challenges to LDS history, doctrine, etc. are one thing--I see a lot of that on this board--but attempts to respond to "anti" material are, in my opinion, largely a waste of time given the absurdity of most of the anti-Mormon attacks. Reviewing these isn't any better use, and I'm guessing the intention is to gather some slick comebacks during an argument with the anti folks. The spirit of this board seems to be generous acceptance of motives and opinions. I apologize for my brief and unqualified "waste of time" comment in the earlier response...I should have kept my keyboard fingers still.
nealr Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Forgive me for the self-promotion, but while I am not explicitly "anti-anti-Mormon" I try to provide useful information for responding to critical claims on my blog: http://www.studioetquoquefide.com/Also, my "Reviewing the Review" series, which summarizes issues of the old FARMS Review, provides what basically amounts to annotations on all the major papers published in the Review, including those that respond to anti-Mormon claims. You can see the list of all the issues of the Review I have thus far included on this page (scroll down a bit): http://www.studioetquoquefide.com/p/reviewsresponses.htmlThat page also links to other reviews and responses I have written, including some to what I would consider anti-Mormon stuff. Again, sorry for the shameless plug, but it seemed relevant. 1

The Nehor Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I prefer anti anti anti anti Mormon blogs myself. 1
mfbukowski Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Why are we all guessing at what the OP means?I think he needs to re-write it, if he wants answers.
canard78 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Maybe the poster is a Brit. It made sense to me:"I want to find some anti anti mormon blogs."Blogs that are against 'anti-Mormons.'"I am looking for resources so i can read up on commentary about the critics of the church and there doings."Resources with commentary about the critics. Having said that... Anyone who muddles up 'their' and 'there' should probably be ignored. And 'i'... Every keyboard includes a 'Shift' button.
mfbukowski Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Anyone who muddles up 'their' and 'there' should probably be ignored. And 'i'... Every keyboard includes a 'Shift' button.Agreed. Maybe it was a typo but it does not give one confidence that the rest of the conversation will be better than the OP 1

mfbukowski Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 While an Anti-Auntie Mormon blog would be just mean. Like killing a mocking bird or something...That reminds me of my favorite drink before I joined the church- a tequila mockingbird. Definitely a mean drink!Unfortunately I could go on like this all day. I drive my poor wife crazy with my stupid puns.
