Bill, what time is your presentation at? I can't attend for more than an hour or two, but would like to hit that one if possible as it seems it would be a more indepth discussion of stuff you have posted here that I was interested in.

Our session is 930-1130 in HC3rd floor assembly hall.

Three papers, Allen is 2, I am 3. Allen will probably start at about 10.

Too dizzy to drive today, sigh....it is really annoying to be this close and yet so far away practically speaking.

And I'm a pansy on the freeways these days, let's hope for a podcast of some sort. I was really looking forward to Volgadon's talk. If I were closer I'd had offered to pick you up, as long as we stayed off the freeway. People drive like they on the autobahn these days! Edited by Tacenda

We would make quite a pair, lol.

I can send you a copy of the paper, but alas no recordings were made.

Get feeling better. Same offer as the above.

I was super interested in the subject of mysticism. If it has anything to do with speaking to our dead or somehow communicating with them, through whatever means. Maybe if you have time, post something about that? Thanks for the offer to send a copy though! Edited by Tacenda

Part of my paper touched on that.

Nope, you still can't get any "new messages".

I wonder if Volgadon could do as Bill has and post his paper here for all to see?

I'm toying with the idea.

Actually it was well received at the conference. Prof. Elliot Wolfson thought it appropriate and mentioned it during the Q&A after his presentation.

For the most part, we had a good Q&A after the morning session, in which Wolfson and Loy brought up some very pertinent points.

About...?

About universal trends in mysticism, though they agreed that context matters. Wolfson even mentioned the example (which I've used in this board) of the Jewish Sufis.

It's interesting to me that it seems automatically assumed that "MSH" should have clear and absolute meaning to all. Clearly, I'm out of the loop. Based on that final post by Bill Hamblin, I see that it refers to "Mormon Scholars in the Humanities". Thanks, Bill.

volgadon posted a link to the conference in the first post, that is how I found out what it meant. Didn't know it before that.

I figured that people would click on the link in the opening post. At least that is what I do when I don't know what is being talked about, sorry.
