Mormon Dialogue & Discussion Is Addictive, Shouldn'T We All Be Spending More Time In The Temple?

Just kidding about the temple remark, but this place (MD&D) is so amazingly therapuetic, I can't get anything done. Of course I'm in the education field as a sub teacher and have my summer off. But what am I going to do when I go back?

It starts to repeat after awhile so it gets easier to leave for some...not me, it's my social life....as should be obvious from my post count.

:) Do some of you get to meet face to face at say Fair conferences? Somewhat like Mormonstories conferences, of course I don't know if FAIR conferences get over to Canada much.

When I went to the Mormonstories conference for the first time, I was very hesitant to actually meet anyone on NOM or Staylds. And didn't because I don't think many went.

I am not in Canada now, though I did get to a FAIR conference while living there. We moved down here the following summer. Can't remember if I made it to that one as well.

Can't go these days, summers are not good to me.

It is fun to go to the conferences to meet those on the board. I have met a number in person...we would put our board name below our real names on our tags and have a lunch table set aside for those from the board. Don't know if they still do that.

Tacenda...

I've had the pleasure of meeting four of our women posters... and emailed and/or talked by phone to a couple more posters (men and women). I consider them friends...

I've participated here since Nov '05... so yes it is addicting, but participation becomes less as things repeat (seems someone new comes on and asks some of the same questions/topics that have been discussed several times in the past. Makes me chuckle when a new critic comes on with what they think is some new thing that we haven't heard before). Being retired (71 years old) I'll come on early in the morning and say to myself... wonder what the kids are up to today... <_<

Since the accident it is my total Social Life...Not a single post at the board not to be mentioned. I don't miss them.

You don't need that kind of negativity, it will interfere with healing.

I'm not allowed in the temple because I'm not a member. MY FAULT...I know. But we, Bishop, SP, and myself are working to remedy this situation.

I agree though...this board has been therapeutic AND a blessing.

That is so great, brother.

Would love to go to the Temple. The closest I get is doing family history on Family Search and adding names to be done at the Temple. This place helps keep me (in)sane. Being home bound, this is a great way to interact with other members.

Tacenda, Some members here have met each other. Maybe you will get to meet some. When you do take notes and pic's to blackmail show us all later.

A great goal Valentinus. :clapping:

I would attend the Temple more often if it was built here, which it is announced but...hasn't been built yet and they haven't decided on a site yet...

It will be great...go for the groundbreaking and the dedication. I did both here in Atlanta, it was great...such a small word for such an event.

if the rumours are true on a location, I could walk to the Temple...I can walk to the Temple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it would take about 40ish minutes though but who cares. It would literally be built down 40minutes on my street and to the left and what is more is their is a mcdonalds right there as well

Way too many of us seem to be in this position....thank goodness for technology, I know my mother survived/survives by constant reading, but there is a fundamental loneliness in her life from not having someone to talk to besides me and we have never lived close enough for 35 years to have much of a conversation. We talk over the phone, but sometimes I think that just makes the loneliness more obvious and my dad has never really set things up so she has access to the computer, I don't think it occurred to him that she would have liked to, he is kind of oblivious of that side of her though he gets the reading and has made tons of bookshelves for her.
