  1. By my understanding, as RC. The Apostles Creed was a statement of faith by the early Christians, who lived in a time, not that long after the mission in this world of Jesus. A creed that was later updated by the Nicene Creed.
  2. This is one I will certainly look out for.
  3. Pray assured
  4. I agree, Calm. After watching movies of this type. I tend to look at the actual historical side of the story and then come away better informed. Although, like yourself. I prefer the factual documentary, rather than the fictionalised drama.
  5. Recently managed to get a DVD of the film 'The Butler'.Been wanting to see this film for sometime, stars Forrest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey. The English actor Alan Hickman apparently portrays Ronaldo Reagan. Hopefully, I will be able to watch this film at weekend.
  6. Thanks for the warning.
  7. I agree. Those who say LDS are not Christian, have more than likely heard the statement made by someone else. As such, the person hearing, will just repeat the statement verbally, parrot fashion.
  8. Great photos. Looks a great place to visit.
  9. I think, and I am open to correction. Within all faiths, there is a certain amount of fear or at least uncertainty, of understanding another faith, and in some respects culture. From my own experience, I have been able to remain true to myself and remain in my own comfort zone. While at the same getting to know people of a different faith and/or culture, and gaining a better understanding.
  10. As Webbles as touched on it. The Roman Catholic Church has the process of excommunication. Not as much in the present, as it did previously. The case of the SSPX a number of years ago, being an edition to excommunication.
  11. I have noticed at time some women, have a dislike of people walking behind them. In certain cases men.
  12. Many thanks for your kind words. I think being on this Dialogue, and communicating with the good people here, as been a great help to me.
  13. Hi Stargazer. Just wanted to say, I think you are doing a great job of getting all this together. Well done. 👍
  14. I vaguely remember when I joined this Dialogue, almost 2 years ago. Apart from introducing myself, for which I was warmly greeted, asking about appropriate terminology. So as not to cause any unnecessary concerns or offence. I find, that maybe or maybe not, it maybe easy for some people. To feel better, or to get comfort in their own position, to offend or belittle others, to feel they are gaining self approval for their own position. I remember when I was younger, back in the early 1970's. The Island family came to the United Kingdom. The people presenting certain TV programmes would refer to the Osmond's as 'Mormons'. Being a very young child, and not being familiar with that term. I asked a adult family member, 'What's a Mormon's. The reply I vaguely remember getting, whas something about it being 'An American Thing '😳. Fortunately, as I got older, I learnt better, and now understand. It becomes easier, unfortunately, for people who do not understand either, understand what little they know of others. To offend others, rather than understand another person's genuine attempt to become a better person. If, by chance, I have actually offended anybody by this post, and anything that I have said. I genuinely apologise in advance.
  15. Hi Nehor I was thinking more about a wife considered a 'goody two shoes'. That's a wife I would be proud of. 😊
  16. Sounds to me, like a wife to be proud of.
  17. It looks good, I will look out for this one, many thanks.
  18. I have been reading these posts with interest, finally gave in and decided to add my thoughts. Maybe the end of times will be a long drawn out process. It could be possible, the beginning will set the stage for things to get set in motion until the eventual end. If the 'beginning' of the end has started. It may have been recent, it may have started centuries ago. Jesus did warn about impending wars and so on.
  19. I imagine the terms brother and sister could be used in a number of ways. Near family members, literally brothers and sisters. Or members of a Church or some other kind of institution, signifying fraternity. Alternatively, in a secular sense of equality. My own preference, as a literal person. A brother and sister, is exactly that, a close family relative.
  20. I, for my own part, have used the terms, brother and sister. Occasionally in passing to very close friends. Only to express a deep friendship.

    Bot Rot

I get the bot when I log in. Also, when I have logged in but not viewed anything for some time.
  22. Many thanks Kenngo 👍.
  23. I just felt the need to add my own perspective to the post of smac97. There seems to be a regular theme, mainly, in my own thought process, of people outside an institution, calling for more openness. Whether it be the Church of Jesus of Latter Day Saints, the Roman Catholic Church, or any other 'Religious Institution' of noticeable size and influence. People calling for openness and/or clarity. And also people from within calling for openness. I guess it is easy for people, I presume, to suspect that there could be lots of secrets being held, about all kinds of things.
  24. And I am very glad to be here 👍.
  25. Those on this Dialogue, who are familiar with me, will be aware I am RC (Please don't all scream 😊). I came to this Dialogue to help me with my own personal journey in faith. And very glad I did arrive here, and hope to remain as long as allowed. From my own experience, all Christians can learn from each other how to develop in their own personal journey in faith.
