But, but, he was awesome in that Star Trek: TNG episode! 4

It will most likely be a missionary tool like all the other historical buildings. Unlike the CoC tours. And he said in the temple there was a see through thin white curtain, between where the Lord visited Joseph and Oliver Cowdery and those on the other side. And he thought people on the other said would have seen it too. So Jim believes it was more a vision, not an actual visit by the Lord. https://podcasts.apple.com/se/podcast/the-kirtland-temple/id1682941294?i=1000648419919 It's interesting there is a letter from at the CHL "Lucius P. Parsons letter, Kirtland Mills Ohio to Pamelia Parsons, 1836 April 10" and they are non members, in it he claims that "They report that the Savior appeared personally with angels and endowed the elders within powers to work miracles" So, obviously we can't prove Christ appeared but we can show it was a very early belief, two weeks after in fact, that people were reporting the Savior appeared at the Solemn Assembly you may also be interested in this article https://byustudies.byu.edu/article/an-angel-or-rather-the-savior-at-the-kirtland-temple-dedication-the-vision-of-frederick-g-williams/ 4
MiserereNobis Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 As I recall, there used to be an RLDS/Community of Christ poster here. Didn't he have the inside of the Kirtland Temple as his avatar picture? Someone help me out here, it's driving me crazy. I've been here too long, ha. And I'm mad posting today because I'm the test coordinator for the SAT and the new digital SAT has made my job basically meaningless. I sit and do absolutely nothing. But hey, that means they're paying me to make all these posts! 3

The one way I can currently figure out how to view all members of the board is to go to advanced search, click on member search and then submit. It pulls up the complete member list. You used to be able to do this on the home page, but so far this update version (and at least a few before it) I have only been able to find a link for online users. I wait a bit after pulling it up as filtering counts as a new search and for some reason they make you wait between searches a ridiculous amount of time. I filter it by post count to push the majority of the 23,000+ listed members who have never posted to the back of the line. Then you can scan through looking for the avatar that is bugging you….as long as they haven’t changed it. Make sure to wait a bit between popping back through the pages to avoid the “wait 12 seconds…” demand as it can screw it up enough that you have to start over. I usually count to at least 20. He loves that he is getting paid to play. 1
Calm Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 I got up to page 25 moving back looking for a picture of the Kirtland temple before I hit the wrong button and messed up my search. So many long missing posters I would like to see again….

My memory was asking the poster what the picture was and he/she saying it was the inside of the Kirtland Temple. My memory's probably off, though. It was cool seeing those long missing posters. 1

Iirc, it was one of the pulpits for the Priesthood leaders. It would have been a white pulpit with three letters on it. https://history.churchofjesuschrist.org/story/historic-sites/ohio/kirtland/six-things-to-remember-about-the-kirtland-temple?lang=eng 1

I was using that picture for a time on FB back in the day. I have no clue what my handle was that was at least 8 years ago. If it was me- good memory. 1

So this name popped into my head once I remembered the picture…though not sure if the same person as different avatar, though I am positive it wasn’t always this picture….looking at Zealous’ avatar, my guess is one and the same…that mustache looks familiar FYI, to view old posts, go to the poster’s profile, click on “see their activity” and then click on “posts” or “topics” on the left side menu. It brings up all their posts. In this case I just typed in the last page number on the pull down link…it says “page 1 of ___” as that will obviously have the earliest posts that are saved (in hopes he introduced himself, which he did….which confirmed my memory he was RLDS and the picture confirmed my guess it was Zealous…unless my eyesight is bad). https://www.mormondialogue.org/topic/53824-query-regarding-my-church-afilliation/ Edited March 9, 2024 by Calm 1

Welcome back to the board! You're still theologically incorrect since you're not Catholic but I'm still happy to see you again 3
