If the Book of Abraham is as fictional as Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking Glass". . .

Recommended Posts

As Dr. Micael Coe, the eminent Yale anthropologist/archaeologist of Mesoamerica told me in an email in February 2020, "As I told John Sorenson in 1985, the Book of Mormon is a book of fiction out of the mind and imagination of Joseph Smith, Jr., and if the alleged keystone of Mormon theology is fiction, so must the other scriptures of Mormonism be fiction, such as the Book of Abraham (BOA)."  The essence of Mormon theology and polytheism emanates from the BOA.  John Stuart Ferguson has stated that Mormon Apostle Hugh B. Brown told him around 1970 that the BOA should be de-canonized as were the "Lectures on Faith," which were canonized by Joseph Smith, Jr. in 1835 and remained the doctrines of the Mormon Church until around 1925 and classified as fiction.  If a letter were found tomorrow written by Joseph Smith, Jr. saying that the whole LDS, Mormon theology was his concocted fabrications and really not of any theological value, there would be a great many Mormons that would leave the LDS Church, and many Mormons that would somehow remail loyal to Salt Lake City.  In other words, the Mormon Church would survive materially in the midst of chaos.  There are about 3.5 million TBMs around the world who would commit murder for the Mormon prophet.  The rest of the alleged 15 million membership are semi-active and inactive Mormons who are Mormon in name only.  The BOA and the BOM have been proven to be historical fabrications, lies, and pure fantasy, and it has been established on the Internet as such.

How are we supposed to take any of this seriously?

Someone who is bored on a Saturday night with no date or buddies to hang out with, has watched everything on Netflix and Hulu and whatever and can’t beat that level, no matter how many times they try, so decides to play troll instead, most likely.

You didn't read it? You don't know anything about it yourself? So you Appeal to Authority? I've never seen Dr. Micael Coe demonstrate that he read the Book of Mormon either... Like he thinks there are Roman style chariots in the Book of Mormon, there are not. Therefore, what he believes is a fiction is of his own making. He seems to know nothing about the current state of LDS Apologetics, like in Arabia, just an outdated Fawn Brody understanding. Only 1% of Mesoamerican has been studied., so to say the is no proof is premature, while there is plenty of parallel evidence. You haven't demonstrated you've read it or know anything about it other than what your trusty internet reddit critical cliff notes you've cut and pasted here said, hoping to look smart.

I liked how the Lectures on Faith were “classified as fiction”.

Make 25 posts, or 24 now, or comment on posts like the pinned three word story and you'll be able to make topics in the discussion forum. Because apparently social is for light topics etc. I'm interested in what you've got to say. And I'm pretty sure everything here you've said has been discussed over there.
