yeah, it's still ironic.  But based on the news headlines though, you would think he was more than important to the movie.  Some examples:

The QAnon stuff is weird.

I would bet a substantial number of the backers were QAnon or QAnon adjacent. The whole conspiracy is tied up with claims of pedophilia and trafficking and I know that a lot of the word of mouth and targeted recruiting was on their sites. Not all, but a lot.

The complaint alleges that Marta assisted a woman referred to as “Suspect 1” in harboring her children at an apartment building he owned “knowing she had taken them illegally” from a lawful parent. I talked about where they were advertising. QAnon sites and non-QAnon sites with users that are sympathetic to the belief but won’t espouse it themselves. So yes to anyone who fits in that category which probably includes a subset from all of those groups.

So he could have been helping an abused woman and her children hide from a spouse (of course the woman could be the abuser or it was a nasty custody fight or something else), it looks like it could be possible he was trying to do good, something many of us would morally support even if it was illegal.  That makes more sense as to why he would support such a movie.

Ok - Q-anon-adjacent = people who believe qanon conspiracy theories but aren't talking openly about it.   I can hang with that.

I am a patriotic 2nd amendment enthusiast constitutional conservative, with much energy and zeal over the horrible crimes of child sex trafficking and how pervasive it is.  And I'm not 'qanon adjacent', because I don't believe there's some global conspiracy populated by the rich and powerful to enslave our girls, and Trump knows about it and will save us all.  And I know most child sex trafficking is of the local homegrown variety, not the Sound of Freedom variety.  There's more than one Epstein, but there are ten thousand of these folks for every Epstein.

Good to know! ETA: Ugh, just read the article out of Colorado. I'm sick about this young woman only wanting to be able to do her studies etc in peace and winding up being sexually assaulted and hauled in to the ring of being trafficked. Sadly she was abused in her own family too. We've got to become very loud and clear that victims (turned heroes) need to speak up, if this happens, it's never okay. And also, if the victim/hero does just lay there and take it, not to feel guilty about it, since it's a normal reaction. I hope girls/women understand it's not their faults. The girl in the article was given a date rape drug as well. This is something that needs to start at the core. And I believe the core is generations of abuse.
