We don't take positions on torture or genocide.

Components of torture and genocide are addressed in ongoing Church teachings against mistreatment of human beings.

Just curious. How many have had this letter read in their ward as instructed?

I know they have not read it in our ward, I have asked other friends and they have not had it read in any of their wards. I then checked with family in different parts of the Midwest and nothing has been read in their wards either.

Usually when the First Presidency directs a letter to be read from the pulpit it’s done quite religiously (no pun intended).

It was read in my ward.  Perhaps in the month since it was issued the people you've asked have forgotten that it was read.

Not sure  not while I was there, but we have been to a different ward once or twice in that time.

Not mine but we have been shut down for several weeks due to broken air conditioning.
