It could be only that some prophets have preferences that some other prophets don't have. Some prophets of God with white skin may favor women with white skin, rather than considering black skin to be equal or preferable to white skin, for their wives. And in such cases if you were to ask them how they felt or what they thought, they would tell you. Preferences are not usually due to mistakes. I like what I like and I don't like what I don't like, and I suspect most people are pretty much the same way in that regard.

Let's just suppose there are some men with white skin who would marry some woman with black skin, and some other men who would prefer to marry a woman with the same color of skin, also white. And let's also suppose there are some men who would marry a woman with red, curly hair, cut short, and some other men who would prefer to marry a woman with long brown hair. The world has all kinds of people with all kinds of preferences. What does any of this have to do with who you would choose to follow as a leader?

MustardSeed Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 (edited) Papa in short it is my opinion that at-large we erroneously Believe that when we are told that the prophets will never let us astray That it means the prophets will always tell us exactly what God thinks and wants and never otherwise- That everything that comes out of their mouth at the general conference or otherwise is perfect and should be taken as the word of God. I do not believe that this is accurate. It is my opinion that when we are told that the prophets will never lead us astray , It means that the General authorities will never steer us away from the Savior. Too many times the Saints like to get Lost in the details. So they hear a talk about Coke and they believe that anyone who drinks a Coke is going to go to hell. So we live like this for decades until somebody wakes up and says hello, let’s focus on the stuff that matters. There will always be people that get stuck in the weeds. I prefer not to be one. This is all simply my opinion. Edited December 8, 2022 by MustardSeed 3

bsjkki Posted December 10, 2022 Posted December 10, 2022 I always enjoy reading a new thread and discovering an enlightening grammar debate.
Calm Posted December 10, 2022 Posted December 10, 2022 (edited) Bill, this is Nehor’s original post that started the “irregardless” side topic. He is essentially saying his inner English demon is overreacting to your use of the nonstandard “irregardless” by making his face twitch. And of course it’s not that bad, so he is only joking. Everything else about “irregardless”**** started from that and got taken too seriously by us grammar nerds, but can safely be ignored by everyone else. My advice is to just skip any post that has the word “irregardless” in it as it is a rabbit trail for us obsessive about the English language. Going from memory, that would be skipping most or all of my posts as well as Nehor or Scott’s, though someone else might have contributed that I have forgotten. ****The side topic was basically a discussion or debate on whether “irregardless” should be seen as not a word at all or just a nonstandard word with some commentary on dictionaries and language. I apologize for my lack of control, but realistically I am likely going to transgress again when Grammer rears its so ugly, it’s beautiful head. 1
