What was my crime?

For some reason I was banned from the Roe v Wade thread. I can’t even fathom what offense I could have made.

You don't have to commit a crime to be punished.  Jesus proved that.

I was thread banned for telling someone to get a different point of view.

The funny thing is when you get the notice at the bottom of the page there's a button that says contact

So I made a comment and hit the contact button. Then I get an email stating they do not answer those messages. LMAO . You can't make this stuff up.

I have complained to the mods a few times about being banned and gotten a response. Admittedly my goal was also to make them laugh. I once wrote a sarcastic and self-deprecating complaint about being banned. I was told the reason I was banned and it didn’t match what I thought.

My response was, “Okay, fair enough, I did do that.”

How long ago did this happen?  Just wondering if they are doing it currently, but don’t want to make them look at an email just for my curiosity.

There was awhile the contact system was busted and they weren’t getting alerts iirc that they had emails so they just didn’t use it…but honestly I don’t think it necessarily a bad thing to have very limited contact for mods, having been a mod who was always available. This board has survived a long time, much longer than I thought it would before mods get too frustrated and shut stuff down so much that frustrated posters leave or stop paying attention and letting free rein, which drives the civil posters away.  It has changed in character as various frequent posters come and go, of course…but quite a few that have been here forever, which speaks to it working relatively well.

I haven’t been banned though I have offered to be a few times, so that may colour my perception.
