While the idea might be for him to drive that thing into the ground as-is, while it might not be worth the time and cost necessary to restore it, and while one may lack the ability or the inclination to do so, that thing has potential.  It would be absolutely beautiful if it were restored right.  Just sayin'! ;)

P.S.: I see it's a Dodge.  What year and model is it?

1963 Dart. We don't restore, just return it to the road and drive.  That's what we did the 1961 Sunliner behind it and the 1969 XL he's parking.

The next step with this one is swapping out the intake for a 2 barrel. He might have to fab his own linkage.

Smart, then you don't need to worry about damaging it. Just enjoy and use it instead of keeping it garaged.

Agreed. Driving a 60yo beater today is way more fun than waiting 10 years for a ride that is too pristine to touch.
