GG This is pretty much standard these days. For the purpose of the dedication, the remote viewing site is considered a temporary extension of the temple. 1

When we with our older children attended the Draper Utah Temple dedication 11 years ago, we all were given passes by the bishopric, but I don’t recall whether the children had limited-use recommends. All attendees had to be temple worthy, though. 1

We took our oldest daughter who was quite young, 10, to the Bountiful temple in 95'. I had to look it up, and it was dedicated by Howard W. Hunter. Edited May 3, 2020 by Tacenda

(It can be families who are in particular need of strengthening, or those who've overcome something, or a whole number of other things, should be chosen very prayerfully, but occasionally is full of higher muckety mucks families.) 1

I recall a comment once made by a GA at a Temple dedication, something like that was good, inplying not great but good!
