Logos.com gives away a free e-book every month (https://www.logos.com/free-book-of-the-month). Most of the time they're nothing special but occasionally they give away premium commentaries (like Fitzmyer's commentary on Romans or Sarna's commentary on Exodus).

Let's put it together!  I'm only half joking.  Why should we expect universities with little connection to Mormonism to put together an academic introduction to Mormonism, when we Mormons haven't done it ourselves?  Perhaps the big names of academic Mormonism could indeed put something together and show what a university course on Mormonism might look like.

Another perspective on your question:  We're not nearly as large or historically important as most of the other religions mentioned above (although you might argue we're about the same size as Sikhism, so why not...)

I really kind of dislike all "isms." I realize, however, that Latter Day Christian thought is a bit long tho.

I need a 101 class...where do I get something for newbies that want to understand all this?  Beginners style.  I am fascinated with my Jewish friends but don't know how to bring up anything.

That must be what they use for the BYU Mormon Studies Degree...

I don't think the people who make these courses regard Mormonism as a separate religion but rather part of
Christendom.  Unless the LDS President comes out one day and says we are totally separated from those
sects who supposedly teach a false Jesus Christ - one who is not the first spirit child of heavenly parents.

Interestingly, the course on Christianity is presented by Karen L. King, who was a supporter of the Gospel Of Jesus' Wife  a few years ago, which turned out to be a forgery
